(R-Ill.) broke with his party on Monday to back giving President Obama's Supreme Court nominee a hearing and a vote.
"I also recognize my duty as a senator to either vote in support or opposition to that nominee following a fair and thorough hearing along with a complete and transparent release of all requested information," Kirk wrote in a Chicago Sun-Times op-ed.

GOPe pussy.
And have that hearing last 340 days with a vote of no.
Kirk is a Jerk. Someone...anyone, primary this degenerate.
Predict who will be next?
Xxx
Check with VP Biden and get back to us.
Long term I am for term limits for judges and elected officials. Convention of States may be the way to go to get this done.
“I also recognize my duty as a senator to either vote in support or opposition to that nominee....”
No, Sen Kirk. Your job is to advise Obama who he should appoint. If he appoints someone off your list it shouldn’t be problem getting him or her confirmed.
You’re right, but Kirk is pathetic. It’s always about being re-elected. Texas which is pretty conservative right now has that loser John Cornyn. Besides, this election cycle marks the end of the GOPe.
Down here in Texas, we have a saying about John Cornyn- Campaigns like Davy Crockett, governs like Santa Anna.
I used to think Repubs were independent thinkers. Now I know they are only out to save their own skins, and America can go pound sand.
I think this the first time I will have used bad language on the Freep: we don’t give a damn what you think, Sen. Kirk, that nomination doesn’t deserve a vote.
These spineless corrupt RINOs cant wait to be of service to that creature Obama,
Its truly bizarre watching those like that reprobate McCain, Graham and Kirk bend over backwards to give that demonic Obama everything he wants even before he asks for it,
This is what it looks like when Satan gives someone their seat power and great authority, his low level servants in the periphery fall all over themselves to be of service to their master,
Immigration he would have voted against as recent as 2012 stating Romneys self deportation plan was mean spirited. Do you have your doubts that had he been a congresscritter he’d have said different?
So why the pass? Because he says the right things?
Buddy...do you not see the base revolting against the elites in the GOP?
I don't care about keeping committee chairs or a majority, if it's not going to be used effectively.
I live in Illinois, and James Marter, a true conservative, is running against Kirk in the primary March 15th. Everybody from Illinois vote James Marter in the primary!
“Are you really this slow? If having power in the Senate means you have to go along with Leftists to keep power in the Senate then does it REALLY matter who has power?”
You seem the ‘slow’ one. The GOP has a 54 vote majority in the Senate. They can afford to let two or three Senators up for election in a Blue state support Obama’s nominees. It won’t matter and may help them keep their seat. Nancy Pelosi used this tactic many times allowing democrats in conservative states a free vote against liberal policies.
If you don’t care about majorities or committee chairs, then you will get more of Obama. I expect Clinton to be much worse.
I don’t care about revolts or elites. I am a doctrinaire conservative, and what I care about is blocking the liberal agenda.
You?
Not sure if I would trust these fools but you may have a point. In any event, I’m not sure it matters who holds power if you have a Republican President; If it’s Trump or Cruz they’ll probably get fairly little support from either side (although Trump may be better to wheel and deal in that case)
