The Hill ^ | Febuary 22, 2016

(R-Ill.) broke with his party on Monday to back giving President Obama's Supreme Court nominee a hearing and a vote.

"I also recognize my duty as a senator to either vote in support or opposition to that nominee following a fair and thorough hearing along with a complete and transparent release of all requested information," Kirk wrote in a Chicago Sun-Times op-ed.

The committee just needs to “lose” some of the files on the nominee.

whhhyyy...it could take months to retrieve them from the hard drives they were on.

“Trump was never in office where he pulled crap like this.”

I’m glad you mentioned this. So let me pose the following, had he been in Congress and voted the way his past positions held and the way his donations filled the coffers of liberals AND would most certainly expressed the same as you above do you think for a nano second he’d even be considered here in FR?

To that I’ll reply for you hell no he wouldn’t! It is because he has never been placed on the Congressional record as to having a vote precisely is why those here in FReeper land give him a pass.

So knowing what Ive stated above why are so called conservatives giving him a scone of consideration to represent us?

They only need 14 republican senators to vote to confirm, and they’re already about half way there without any arm twisting.

The point is stupid stuff like this that so many people think is true: “Harry Reid Says Obama Will Soon Replace Scalia”

http://patriotnewsdaily.com/harry-reid-says-obama-will-soon-replace-scalia/

It’s good to know ahead of time that Obama can’t replace squat without Senate approval and the Senate may just ignore the guy. It’s all a Senate issue not an Obama issue.

I don’t think Kirk loses in the primary and he will be in a fight for his political life with whoever the Rats run (duckworth - though Harris might fire up enough blacks to win the primary) .

Exactly what I was thinking. And exactly why folks should pray for Trump.

I will be surprised if we get to the 2016 election without an economic crash and/or major war starting somewhere.

OK, I’m putting on my tinfoil now. Hopefully, I am completely wrong.

He is simply the most endangered Republican Senator running a hard reelection in a hopelessly blue state. He is the best we will get out of the Prairie state so their is no point in fraggin him. there are certainly enough GOP Senators to stop a nomination with out him and the usual McCain Graham Ryan continuum. My only fear is that the Donks will come up with some plan to give corporate handouts to the GOPE establishment and then we could see what traitors they are, but, with the revolution going on in the Presidential race I do not think they would dare.

“Kirk...added that it is the “right of the president” to nominate someone to the Supreme Court...”

No, it’s his duty and responsibility, not his right. the Constitution does not give the President any special “rights”. Not a one.

Who cares...with senators like him, put him where he belongs in the chicago river when it comes time for voting. They obviously don’t get the message why they are there so why put them there to begin with?

Hatch (R-UT) will soon be demanding a vote for Obama’s choice, and will be joined by McCain, Collins, and Graham.

No, I’m not slow. We can prevent O from appointing lib because we are in the majority. No majority, O does what he wants.

But O cannot do what he wants. We can make him appoint a moderate, or no one at all. If he proposes a moderate, I’d take that deal, and fight this battle over Ginsberg after the election. Then, if we win POTUS AND the Senate, then we pick a conservative and flip the majority back to us. IT ALL DEPENDS UPON WINNING BOTH THE POTUS AND THE SENATE. Lose either election, and we are screwed.

That’s why it’s important that Kirk wins - because it helps us keep the majority and thus the committee chairs.

This is not rocket science. Winning matters.

Harry Reid would kill any attempt to move forward a Republican nominee if he were majority leader. Bank on it.

Believe me, I gave no money or time to Kirk...I did give him a piece of my mind. I don’t believe he is being Primaried, but I told his office that I will be leaving his place blank on the ballot. I said to office he may as well be the Democrat candidate. Call-taker told me lots of calls coming in.

Of course can always tell if lots of calls because won’t ask for name, address, or even zip code LOL.
