Donald Trump consults with Rudy Giuliani as he builds political kitchen cabinet

Fresh off back-to-back victories in the Republican presidential race, Donald Trump is moving to expand his tight-knit campaign by building a political kitchen cabinet that includes former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani.

Giuliani, who has not made an endorsement in the 2016 contest, said in an interview Sunday that he has conferred at length with Trump at least three times in the past month, both in person and by phone, and has counseled the real estate mogul "as a close personal friend" about campaign issues.

"We've been talking. Donald and me, Donald and a few other friends who know politics. He calls to check things out or I'll call him to say, 'Donald, you're going too far' or 'What you said was great' or maybe 'Change it a bit.' It’s nothing formal. It's kind of a running conversation," Giuliani said. "There is candor and there is trust."

I was thinking Homeland Security, but I’d settle for Sheriff Clarke there as well.

I've always like Rudy.

He's a good, solid, calm, brainy guy to be at the right hand of Mr. Trump in whatever capacity he'll be appointed to.

I’m not saying it’s the best ticket but:

Trump/Rudy 2016…uh…there goes New York and the election is over.

Rudy for AG would be great.

Heck....I miss Rudy being America’s mayor! NYC hasn’t been the same without him :(

Dir of Homeland Security would be a good place for him, as well.

Rudy is a likable guy though.

Yep he’s more liberal than me, and sure strikes me as a GOP guy, but I like him.

OK, but I’d still like to see Christie as AG. Start with the Black Panthers, La Raza, the pussies who Occupied Places, and all the rest going back to the start of the rein of Eric the Red. Tell Christie he gets cheeseburgers for life as soon as the 100 are arrested, and buy him 1000 donuts for every conviction!

Rudy is a good law & order man, and he deserves credit for cleaning up NYC & responding to 9/11, but he’s *no* conservative! Pro-gay, pro-abort, shaky on 2A.

Once again, the eastern establishment Republicans rule the roost.

i truly don't understand why so many so-called conservatives have jumped on board the Trump express. he's a NYC liberal republican/democRAT, not all that different from Chris Christie or Michael Bloomberg or Pataki. i guess people are spellbound by his willingness to tell the media to go jump in a lake... but that's not going to work from the Oval Office. this election may well be the end of the GOP no matter who the nominee is. i don't mind that, but i don't see a conservative political apparatus there to pick up the pieces.

"may you live in interesting times" indeed!
