Two days before the Nevada caucuses, Senator Dean Heller (R.,NV) has thrown his weight behind Marco Rubio for president. Heller, previously a Jeb Bush supporter, announced his endorsement this morning on Twitter. The move comes mere hours after Bush's exit from the race on Saturday evening. Marco Rubio "is the next generation of conservative leadership, and I am proud to offer my full support," Heller tweeted.
"Marco understands Nevada, he grew up here -- I look forward to campaigning with him today," he added. Heller's imprimatur could help Rubio thread the needle with crucial pockets of the Silver State electorate. Other than Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison, who chairs Rubio's Nevada campaign, Heller is the state's most prominent LDS member, making his stamp no small coup for Rubio: LDS voters gave Mitt Romney his landslide Nevada victories in 2008 and 2012, and Rubio's team has courted them accordingly.
Heller also has clout in Washoe County -- the state's key swing county -- having represented it in Congress from 2007 to 2011. Heller's endorsement is the first major one since Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced his support of Ted Cruz in January. Cruz and Rubio have both engineered bombproof campaign organizations across the state, a necessary feat where chaos and dismal turnout rule the caucuses. Whether the current front-runner can upend them, however, remains to be seen: though Donald Trump has little ground game to speak of in Nevada, he dominates the latest CNN/ORC poll at 45%.
All of these establishment endorsements for establishment Rubio only confirm what we already knew -RUBIO IS THE ESTABLISHMENT.
It will NOT help him, in fact, in only helps Trump and to some extent, Cruz.
So, keep those endorsements coming !
Well, knock me over with a feather.
Exchange one GOPe candidate for another.
The Cheap Labor Express is going all in behind The Meorizer Bunny.
Their stooges are self-identifying.
Cantorize them.
I never heard of heller before. He obviously is overshadowed by Reid even though opposite parties.
Rubio has a weird problem, is he like a human sponge? He just dries up out in the open and starts shriveling. Its like the water is screaming to run from him.
Nevada used to be very red “Reagan Country.” Now it’s purple. Glad to see Adam Laxalt is upholding the conservative tradition of his grandfather, Senator Paul Laxalt.
Maybe Trump won’t get much action from Bush’s leaving the race. This guy goes from one weak horse to another, which sorta makes sense...
I posted this yesterday:
Roger Stone, Trump op, said [yesterday, Fri Feb19, on Infowars.com ]
they will let Trump win SC but it is Nevada where they plan to try to short-circuit him.
OH BAD
And he said to tell all those in NEVADA and all their friends and relatives TO GET OUT AND VOTE .
[ Roger Stone interview 1st hour and some of 2nd ]
It’s becoming more and more clear that the real enemy of Trump and indirectly the country is the GOPe’s backing of Rubio and Trump knows it.
The GOPE’s sinister and desperate plan is to get rid of Cruz because he’s not one of ‘them’ but Rubio is, so Trump is going to have to ‘carpet bomb’, not only Rubio, but the whole conspiracy gathering of fools.
Bombs away.
Just the start of an avalanche of RINO/GOPe support that will be shifting from Bush to Rubio.
Heller must be another idiot.
The Cuban Jukebox on 2 legs will play their favorite RINO hits. Punch the buttons and voila.
What is it about people who are generally low key in the House, but the minute they go to the Senate, they morph into these unrecognizable weirdos?
And Cruz has how many endorsements from Senators? I am not sure what it says about Cruz or what it says about the GOP Senate.
I wish Congress would clear this issue up. Personally, I believe that all Congressmen, Senators, and SCOTUS Justices, in addition to the President, should only be natural-born U.S. citizens. Born to both a naturalized Mother and Father, on U.S. soil or its territories.
Heller flipped on amnesty. Sharon Angle losing the 2006 House race was a disaster.
Governor Sandman, Heller, Cong. Heck, Cong. Amodei & others are big amnesty shills.
