Itâs hard to tell parody from real life on certain college campuses these days, but Iâm pretty sure this article is serious. The article, from the Brown Daily Herald, discusses how Brown studentsâ emotional and academic well-being is suffering because they are so busy fulfilling their âsocial justice responsibilitiesâ as student activists. (And here I thought that if my parents were paying $60K a year for me to go to school, my first responsibility would be to study!)
What I found especially of interest is that both this and a previous story in the Herald suggest that one incident that took an emotional toll on activists was protesting an appearance on campus by Natan Sharansky and Michael Douglas, who were there to discuss their perspectives on Judaism, Israel and current-day anti-Semitism. Students for Justice in Palestine decided that this would be a dandy occasion to engage in a loud, disruptive anti-Israel protest. An assistant dean was on hand, in part to provide âacademic and emotional supportâ to the protesters, according to the Herald.

In the comments section of the WaPo, there are multiple posts about how previous generations in college were also causes for concern to their elders. But I don’t believe any previous generation in recent memory was this insistent about being sheltered from ideas they didn’t like - these college kids are so eager to play the part of the sheep in Orwell’s Animal Farm.
At least two generations raised now on entitlements paid for by DEBT.
The little twinkles that need a safe space?
Just a guess.
“they are pretty much the potheads on campus————”
And the school administrators are allowing this outrageous behavior.
They all should be fired.
.
I’m not sure who needs a punch in the mouth more. The little whining twinkles, or the parents who raised them.

Estimates for college use is high and probably getting higher with its legalization
