Robert Reich unintentionally makes the conservative case for Cruz
The video below was released last night on Facebook by former Clinton Secretary of Labor and noted liberal Robert Reich.
Reich's argument is that Cruz actually believes his conservatism. Reich is right on a big picture basis, even if he exaggerates or distorts a couple of Cruz's positions. Trump, by contrast, is someone Reich feels will make deals and has no ideological foundation so while he's a bully, there's actually less to fear.
Basically, Reich is telling liberals to be afraid, very afraid of Ted Cruz.

I find a globalist whose wife co authored the North American Alliance to eliminate our borders more dangerous to America. I think liberals I know are pretty ok with Cruz they feel his tone in DC to this point will keep Democrats in office for years after 4 years of preaching and nastiness.
I feel similarly although I will vote for Trump. I’ll vote enthusiastically for Cruz if he gets the nomination. I’m not going to trash either one. I reserve that for Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio - our real enemies here.
What happens today in SC will happen and we will all know what shakes out tonight. Then we’ll move onto Super Tuesday.
Yes, yes. I’m told Ted Cruz is awesome. Just look at all the stuff he did in Congress. Just look at all the Supreme Court nominees he’s suggested.

Ted Cruz is a guy who perpetually sells everyone a crisis and claims he’s the only one who can fix it, then offers nothing. He sides with the globalists when it really matters. He’s a fraud.
None of this matters. Everyone is up and to the polls in CS already. We’ll find out soon enough.

In 2004 he said that "I probably identify more as a democrat".
In 2000 he was in favor of gun control.
In 1999 he said "I am very pro-choice".
In 2007 he was questioned on who he thought would be the best person to make a deal with Iran and he said "I think Hillary would do a good job."
In 2008 he complimented Pelosi and said "I'm very impressed by her, I think she's a very impressive person, and I like her a lot."
In regards to Obama's stimulus speech, he said, "I thought he did a great job tonight. I thought he was strong, and smart, and it looks like we have somebody that knows what he's doing. And he's a strong guy who really knows what he wants, and this is what we need."
In 2004 he said that the "economy does better under the democrats than under the republicans."
In 2013 he spoke on immigration saying, "For people that have been here for years, that have been hard workers, that have good jobs, they are supporting a family...it's very, very tough to just say 'You have to leave. Get out.' How do you throw somebody out that's lived in this country for twenty years? You just can't throw everybody out."
In 2015 he said he supported healthcare for everybody and that "the government is going to pay for it."

Hey, Robert Reich.... Jimmah Carter already beat you to saying the same basic thing, i.e., that Trump is “malleable”, while Cruz actually believes in the superiority of conservatism over liberalism.

Night before last, he said we need a mandate for healthcare.
