GREENVILLE, S.C.--Jim Moseley considers himself a "Christian soldier." On Thursday, he drove to the Cross Way religious bookstore in Greenville, S. C., the most devout region in one of America's most devout states, to buy his girlfriend an anniversary card inscribed with a Bible verse.
On Saturday, the 58-year-old salesman will vote in a critical Republican presidential primary. And he will vote for an insult-spewing casino developer from New York who has said he has never once asked God for forgiveness, curses without provocation, used to support abortion rights and speaks proudly of his own greed.
Easy decision.
Moseley explained himself with a metaphor adapted from Genesis. Nobody but Donald Trump, he said, can cut off the head of America's snake: bad decisions made on account of political correctness.
"It's about progress, not perfection. His good far outweighs his bad," Moseley said. "We all fall short. I'm a Christian, and I say a cuss word every now and then. I get angry. He just happens to say what we all want to say, what we all feel. And that's why we like him so much. Because he speaks our feelings."
Near Greenville up by the North Carolina border, ninth on one list of "Bible-minded cities," it's hard to drive five minutes without seeing a church. And you can't walk in without finding fans of a man one Baptist leader called "the embodiment of everything that evangelical Christians have been standing against in American culture." It's about feelings.
Pope Francis said Thursday Trump was "not Christian" for his desire to build "walls," like a barrier on the Mexican border, rather than build "bridges." But most of South Carolina's Christians are not in a bridge-building mood.

Message to Pope: TEAR DOWN THAT WALL surrounding the Vatican.
You’re making that comment to a self-proclaimed Catholic.
This Pope has done a number of things to call himself to question, and thereby a religion that would stand by and allow their leader to behave in this manner.
Are you watching this guy?
Does this guy have no responsibility to speak out against folks like the leaders of Cuba, or is it just the evil U. S. That is deserving of his wrath?
How dare he trash us for wanting a wall similar to the vatican’s.
Get YOUR (liturgical) house in order and then get back to us.
We’re not damning a faith. We’re being specific, and truthful.
>>The Jesuitâs as a group in south America,

And as a force in North America - they still are.
Anniversary- the date on which an event took place in a previous year:
“the 50th anniversary of the start of World War II”

It’s just a marker. My beef is with the idiots in the media that breathlessly announce, “...celebrating the one month anniversary of such and such.” Those idiots...(self censored remark)
>>I donât think the pope himself gives a ratâs ass about Trump.
He doesn’t. He only cares about the border between an advanced nation and a developing one. He sees that one side has prosperity and the other does not, so he thinks that the prosperity must be shared. But if it is not shared, it may be taken, because that is how liberation theology thinks.
It is the theology that thinks that Ananias and Sapphira were killed by God for not sharing; instead of the true reason, which was for lying.
When I worked for That Insurance Company, we talked about policies’ “monthlyversary” and “quarterversary.”
There’s no “we” in Trump.

Trump Change?
We will win again.
Tomorrow we will win in South Carolina and on Tuesday in Nevada.
Populism.
Wow.. maybe the two Corinthians crowd.. but not the ones who have read both their Bible and the Founding Documents. The ones who dust off their collars to support every socialist fantasy. Plenty of those follow Obama also.

This one is a disaster. I'm not Catholic, but appreciated the strengths of John Paul and Benedict. This one seems to be a sad sack misanthropic Marxist sell out.
I'm glad his visit has backfired so much.
Jesus obeyed the law.
Even when it condemned him to die for a crime he didn’t commit.
Agree.
Whenever I see this Pope I see the “Miss me, yet?” image of JPII.
Where two or three Corinthians are gathered in Trump’s name in SC, at least two will claim that Christ is in the midst of them.
I’m pretty familiar with the Gospels. Did any of the disciples ever ask for forgiveness? I’m old and getting forgetful?
“You’re making that comment to a self-proclaimed Catholic.”
Yes, I know. I usually direct comments to my FRiends, what of it?
My position is this:
Screw the commie Pope, I’d love to force him to abdicate and send him North Korea. Screw anyone that supports him. My mom knows nuns that pray for his death.
And also screw bigoted swine who would use him as an excuse to trash a Church they have always hated for reasons having nothing to do with the current Pope. Is that your “we”? If not, I wasn’t talking about YOU. I have not read any post of yours on the subject.
Yesterday I saw some nut, I guess a LaRooshie, call the Catholic church the world’s largest money laundering operation after the British Crown, that’s the kind of jerk I’m talking about.
Feelings. Makes perfect sense . . . for a Democrat. But I choose to rely on reason and critical thought instead. And in doing so, I reach the conclusion that I cannot vote for someone to the left of Mitt Romney on every single issue.
And no other candidate will expedite the return of those illegals either.
