President Barack Obama is not attending conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's funeral on Saturday and the White House has been refusing to say why. The president and first lady instead came to the high court today to pay their respects while Scalia lay in repose. The president's press secretary yesterday suggested that Obama was skipping the formal funeral because his 'security footprint.' Today he said the president planned to review dossiers compiled on 'individuals who may be worthy of consideration' to replace Scalia on the bench. 'I would expect that the president will spend a significant portion of his weekend digging into those materials,' White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

Of course he’s skipping the funeral - it’s one of those old white guys he hates so much. Kind of like the police officers lost in the line of duty, not ever a peep - not his constituency.

Really wouldn’t surprise me if Obama’s version of busily selecting a nominee involves a set of golf clubs.

There isn’t any excuse. We pay STILL pay this ass to do his job and this falls into the category of a MUST. The Fox News contributor teed off on Obama during a segment on “The Kelly File”:

“That is such obvious nonsense, that it shows they aren’t even trying. […] He doesn’t care! He doesn’t want to spend a Saturday in a pew listening to speeches about how great a jurist Scalia was when [he] believes sincerely that everything Scalia argued for was wrong and harmful to the Republic.”
