Vatican: Pope Was Not Singling out Trump With His Remarks

A spokesman for Pope Francis insisted Friday the pontiff was "in no way" launching an attack on Donald Trump, a U.S. presidential candidate, nor was he trying to sway voters by declaring someone who advocates building walls isn't Christian.
The Rev. Federico Lombardi, in an interview on Vatican Radio, stressed that Francis often speaks about building bridges, not walls, and that his remark on Thursday wasn't "a personal attack" on the business mogul.
...snip...
On Friday, Lombardi sought to put the pope's comments in context, saying they were "in no way a personal attack or an indication on how to vote." The radio interviewer told Lombardi that many have seen the comment as a kind of "excommunication, if we can call it that," of Trump.

He must have meant that OTHER guy who wants to build a wall...
Sometimes the pope is fallible after all.
The Pope must have been talking about all those other Presidential candidates who have talked about building a wall.
:/
The Pope stepped in poop with his hate filled screed.
Methinks the Pope will be in the Confessional soon.
His evil is coming out.
of course not...
Notice from the Vatican Office of Translation
Before "poor translation" is made the scapegoat of this latest statements by our Pope , we would like to post this important announcement to the faithful worldwide.DO NOT BLAME US!!! We do not tell our Great Papa what to say. He says it and we try to figure out what it means in Italian, let alone all the languages of the world!
Frankly, whatever you think he said, or whatever you read that he said, or whatever is reported that he said... well, it's all wrong! He never said it!
We are not charged with perfection in translation. In fact, none of us speak a second language at all!
This may surprise many readers of this notice, so I will describe our role here at Vatican Central... or VeeCee, as we call it.
First, just months ago, we were all homeless on the Streets of Rome. The translation office is a jobs program for homeless Italians. Through the kindness of the Great leaders at VeeCee, 8 of us were recruited to a very fulfilling job with benefits. Many of us previously used Google Translate, so we had every qualification needed. Please note, our instructions are to get the message out fast. You may have noticed our Great Pope speaks "off the cuff" quite frequently, or as we say here in VeeCee, "between bites of pasta."
For this reason, we are not charged with accuracy, but with speed. Blinding speed. And between you and me, we are fast. We don't like to miss meals. Done is done. Good enough, is good enough.
With this in mind, please try to speak kindly of us so that we can continue in this important role.
Sincerely,
Luigi, Antonio, Giuseppe, Michael, Maria, Giovanna, Francesco, & Concetta
Thou shalt not lie. Both the Pope and Rev. Federico Lombardi need to be in the confessional booth this morning and saying 4 dozen Hail Marys.
Pope Francis: “Trump is not a Christian!”
Pope Francis: “I’m not singling anyone out!”
Pope Francis: “What next?”
I guess lying isn’t a sin anymore either.
The ONLY reason the Vatican is coming out on this is because they got so much heat from the pope sticking his nose in where it didn’t belong...
Peter the Roman knew exactly what he was saying just like everything else he has been saying...he’s for the New World Order and that is the ONLY reason he was put where he was....his ‘flock’ are not happy with him at all!!!
no, the Pawn is for the Roman Catholic World Order.
He wasn’t singling out Trump, he was sliming everyone in the US that thinks we should have national sovereignty.
The problem with this Vatican spin is that the Pope apparently wants to decide who is Christian based on what He determines is the proper amount of bridge building I should support.
My bridge happens to cross a wall at the border when an immigrant follows the legal path to entry. The immigrant can’t build his own bridge to get around my wall.
From what I’ve heard and read, I think this Pope has come out of the ‘social justice’ wing of the Catholic church so it is not surprising that his views are based on liberal theology.
Vatican spokesman, Father Guido Sarducci:
*Puffs on Lucky Strike* “You know-a, da Holy Father, he justa talkin. Talkitty, talkitty. He say-a a whole lotta things, you know-a. He just-a like-a da bridges. No like-a da walls. It just-a his thing.”
There is no way that a good business relationship could not be considered a “bridge” between people.
