Some of Jeb Bush's most steadfast allies think Saturday might be the end.
Donors, who poured millions into his campaign and super PAC, have stopped giving â one refusing a direct request to raise $1 million this week. Bush himself is hitting the phones, pleading for patience with his most influential supporters. And even some of his confidants are suddenly dejected after a dispiriting week capped off by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley rejecting Bush in favor of Marco Rubio.
"What a kick in the balls," said one of Bush's closest supporters and one of the more than a dozen major Bush donors interviewed for this story.

I'm not fond of Nikki Haley because of that endorsement, but I have to admire her aim. To hit a target that small must have been quite a challenge.
Nice Lennon reference.
;)
Jeb will be out by Monday!
Bush is a threat as long as he is in the race. Good riddance.
Thanks for getting that damned Jackson Browne tune stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Ok smart guy, what song followed that comment? lol
Maybe I'm a prude, but the way crass discourse has been making its way into allegedly "mainstream" publications and articles is yet another sign of our society's decline. A prominent Republican supporter of Bush should not be quoted in an interview calling an endorsement a "kick in the balls" and Politico shouldn't quote it. But both want to be macho and edgy so they do.
“Bush machine running on fumes”........
No, it’s running on hot air and has been from some time. My thinks it is about to run out of steam very soon.
No doubt about it, Jeb just passed John Connolly for the most inefficient use of campaign funds during a presidential nomination cycle.
One thread last evening indicated from several sources that the Bush campaign will no longer be paying staff after Saturday.
Money seems to have dried up. Donors apparently got tired of throwing money down that dry hole.
Even Mommie and Bro didn’t seem to do much to vigorate Jeb’s campaign much.
Thankfully, Barbara didn’t slip on the ice/snow in NH and break her hip.

Across the aisle it seems that Sanders is outpacing the dog-bark-immitator.
It looks like the media won’t get its Clinton-Bush match. Neither Clinton nor Bush seem to have much energy.
Per one radio talkshow personality, Hillary is back to wearing the special black-rimmed eye-glasses. She is also showing physical weakness during some public venues.
If she does have to drop out, that could create room for the Indian Princess and that could spell bad news for the GOP nominee.
As soon as Yeb declared virtually on day one he didn’t need the base to get the nomination, he was finished.
So you’re saying, “It’s all about the base.” ;)
No treble.
Had to look for it. Twist and Shout.
You're a better man than I, reb. I thought it was "You Can't Do That." What was I thinking? Just on context alone, it had to be Twist and Shout.
I read the 800+ biography written by Philip Norman...my daughter gave it to me as a Christmas present. After reading it, John remained my favorite Beatle, though he was a real SOB the vast majority of the time.
I've learned over the years to appreciate music for what it is, without getting wrapped up in the politics of a particular artist.
