The Pope has questioned US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's Christianity over his call to build a border wall with Mexico.
Pope Francis said "a person who thinks only about building walls... and not of building bridges, is not Christian".
The New York businessman supports deporting nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants.
Calling himself a "proud Christian", Mr Trump blamed Mexico for the Pope's remarks, calling them "disgraceful".

The Pope is an open borders globalist and everyone can see right through him.
Trump should go to Vatican City: “ Mr. Pope, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL !! “
This should be for a 10-point rise in The Donald’s polling.
pot meet kettle. How many times has DT attacked Cruz’s faith?
Not all. I just turned on Cavuto, and he wasn’t bashing Trump about it. He said he’s a Catholic but pointed out it was hypocritical of the Pope, and showed film of the Vatican wall.
The Pope’s concept of Christianity — Marxism mixed with un-Biblical religious traditions like celibate priests — is questionable.
Thanks! Lol.
Isn’t it about time Trump sued the Pope?
Because the Pope is a slimy, sleazy, nasty, ugly, cheater, the biggest liar Donald has ever met???
I am actually with Donald on this one regards the Pope and the wall. I just hope Donald and his followers figure out Ted Cruz isn’t anywhere near the worst human being on planet earth.
What nasty things did the Pope have to say about Cruz’s immigration stance?
There are “Christians” and there are born-again Christians.
The former are those who, if asked to check a box to state their “religion” would check Christian. They are the nominal Christians. I meet them all the time. They attend mainstream churches (now and then), they were Christened or baptized, and it’s their assigned religion. They honestly believe they are Christian and don’t know what it really means.
Born again Christians are those born of the spirit. They put Christ first and are considered the fanatics, religious nuts, zealots, in many circles.
I am sure Mr. Trump considers himself a Christian by the first definition. I also think Rush Limbaugh is in that category. Having said that, I also believe that both of these men would DEFEND the Christian faith. I think they are both keenly aware that Christianity is the foundation of America, and that the country has gone down the tubes since Christianity has been abandoned.
Cruz and Trump have both questioned each other’s faith. But they are running against each other. They aren’t foreign religious leaders, or the head of a state completely surrounded by a wall. All these foreign leaders taking pot shots at Trump would do well to consider there is a very real chance that they will have to deal with Trump later as POTUS. They should to take a page from businessman Trump’s playbook and be nice to people they whose help they might want later.
So if you are for the invasion of refugees in a sovereign nation you are a good christian. Send them to Vatican city and george clooneys estate
Same here. He should speak more about Jesus and less about the stuff he talks about in my opinion.
And if the Pope wants the US Taxpayer on the hook for these illegals, then it’s high time we started taxing the Church.
“..I just turned on Cavuto, and he wasnât bashing Trump about it. He said heâs a Catholic but pointed out it was hypocritical of the Pope, and showed film of the Vatican wall.”
True, but Cavuto opened his program with the issue, then interviewed two people about it, THEN brought the subject up AGAIN with an ole Democrat senator. He just could not leave it alone. Yes he did finally make note of the fact that it was not only hypocritical of the Pope, but political as well. Plus one to Cavuto for that — this Pope is a far lefty and he sprays it all over the world. He was a very bad choice of the Conclave.
The issue, ultimately, is the right of Americans to preserve a heritage that the Constitution was intended to help them preserve. This was not the issue in the medieval Church vs. Government battles.
Trump to the Pope: Tear down the Vatican wall and bye the way Merry Christmas.
Cruz should be outraged by the Pope’s proclamation.
Since he is also in favor of building a wall, Cruz is not a Christian by implication.
We can't expect him to attack his fellow globalists.
