By ‘burn the lines’ I mean tie them up with the most phone calls they`ve ever received.
How many Republican Senators would Obama need to blackmail? Not many.
The Senate Republicans are the best Democrats money can buy!
Can’t trust the GOPe, enter Trump. Republicans have botched their majority by dissing those who elected them and throwing away any conservative principles. They allowed the Left to dictate policy and they went along to get along.
Americans are PO’d, once again, that’s why Trump is killing it.
Going through the motions is not retreat.
Like when I let my kids suggest where we eat.
“You can ASK for McDonald’s, Chuck E Cheese, and Pizza Hut. Make your best case.”
“The answer is still no.”
Not good.
VERY not good.
Sen. Grassley (Iowa) was originally opposed to Obama appointing the next Supreme Court justice. This statement by him essentially reverses that.
Merely by allowing hearings he opens the door to an actual vote on Obama’s nominee.
We already know the RINOs in Congress cannot be trusted. I can easily see them preferring an Obama appointee to anyone Trump or Cruz might nominate.
If Grassley allows this he should be primaried out.
They are leftists.
They want to appoint a leftist judge.
What they are going to figure out is how to appoint a leftist judge while making us think that they don’t want to appoint a leftists judge.
Just like what happened in the 'shut down the govt' fiasco.
As for those elected in 2014, they can count on the short memory of the average voter. The price for national betrayal is being negotiated.
“The Senate Republicans are the best Democrats money can buy!”
Exactly
Karl Rove, Charlie Black, Mary Matalin and the rest of the detestable GOPe consultants have obviously begun making the rounds telling these guys their usual stupid crap of how the voters won’t like them if they don’t what Obama wants.
Trump helped the GOPe keep McConnell. So now he is here to help save us from something he helped create?
I cannot believe that Mary Matalin would advise to do what Obama wants. I even doubt that the detestable Karl Rove would give that advice. He is not stupid.
None. A lot of them are vindictive SOBs. Look at the shenanigans it took to save Murkowski and Cochran from the will of Republican voters. Look at the high esteem folks such as Ayotte, Flake, and McCain get for bare-*ssed lying to get elected. Since they're losing their grip on power, they'll vote for the Obama choice just because they're spiteful, nasty creeps.
Ah, but you probably have the spine and resolve to stick with your “no”, and the track record to go with it.
Our elected R’s in both House and Senate have been taking the nation to Chuck E. Cheese—”just this once”—every night for 30 years.
Well of course they are going to fold.
They are Pubbies. That is what they do.
If the Republicans are smart, they’ll keep quiet and play along and go through the entire time-consuming process — vetting, committee, hearings, etc. etc., including rejecting a nominee or two if necessary.
Until the clock runs out, and Jan. 20, 2017 comes.
Can we agree that the Senatorial races have just become critical to the future court?
And will we elect a President with rock solid conservative principles or a flim-flam artist?
I believe that both Matalin and Rove would wisely counsel the Republicans to graciously appear to cooperate and stall, stall, stall for 11 months.
