Donald Trump can't keep his Midwesterners straight.
At a campaign stop in South Carolina on Tuesday, Trump repeatedly referred to retired neuosurgeon Ben Carson as "Obama."
"What Ted Cruz did to Obama, where he said that Obama had quit the race and take our votes," Trump began to say before being corrected by his audience.
In fact, he was referring to an incident in which members of Cruz's campaign spread reports suggesting that Carson was dropping out of the race on the day of the Iowa caucuses. People in the crowd started yelling that it was Carson.
"Right? Is that right?" asked Trump shrugging, before realizing his mistake.
"I'm sorry. Carson. Carson. He said that -- Obama. Obama should've quit the race," Trump said, catching himself.
Trump's dig at President Obama prompted laughter and applause from the crowd. "Wouldn't that have been nice," Trump said.
Obama hails from Chicago and his mother was from Kansas. Carson was born in Detroit. Both men are African-American.
Ha ha. Hey Trump — black people don’t all look alike you know. At least not to most of us.
Has Carson ever been to Africa ? Were his parents born there ? Did he have dual citizenship ?

Especially when the preceding question was about Obama saying Trump would never be elected President. But we knew as soon as he said it, the Tediban would be all over it, like white on rice.
This is ridiculous...57 states...corpse...etc. etc. etc. ad naseum from other candidates.
If I talked all day long for months I’d say something that people could pick apart.

I saw that live tonight. Trump is burning the candle at both ends. Not getting much sleep. Sleeping too fast. He rarely flubs a line. Very rarely.
That’s definitely a lot creepier than one too many martoonies.. that’s almost Bidenish.

OMGosh! I don’t know how he does it either. I wish the GOP would hurry up and coalesce around their horse, but I suppose there is no chance of that until after Cruz gets his last hurrah over with on Super Tuesday.
This would be over already, but for the PAC money and Cheap Labor Express donors floating the boats. These people can light a cigarette with a million dollars, and never look back, such as in the case of Jeb(!) It’s astounding, isn’t it? Useless spending sprees.
Yeppers, ol Trump is done for now. He’ll never recover from this. No one has ever made a misstatement this bad, not in any of the 57 states. Where is a Luntz focus group when you need ‘em?
