How Conservative Comedian Evan Sayet Competes With the Top Comedians

Conservative comedian Evan Sayet is proving that conservatives can be successful in entertainment. Somehow he figured it out despite intense opposition toward conservatives in Hollywood. Last year, Evan Sayet started a national tour of his long running comedy show, The Right to Laugh, which did so well he's now embarking on a return tour.

I attended his show last year when he came to Scottsdale, Arizona, and have never laughed so hard. Dennis Prager calls him "The funniest man in America." Warning: I do not recommend bringing a progressive to his show if they don't have a really good sense of humor. Evan's style is sort of a cleaner version of Dennis Miller. What I personally enjoy about Evan is he is a true star, but he is also classy and nice. Can't say that about many of the progressives in Hollywood.

Politichicks asked him why there are so few conservative comedians, and he explained,

"There are a good many reasons, but first and foremost amongst them is that people in the entertainment industry make so much money at such an incredibly early age that they are totally isolated from reality. The majority of conservatives in America only became conservative once they entered the real world and tested the theories of their childhood against reality. The entertainer, if you've heard his name, has never had to enter the real world and thus he never grows up to become a conservative."

Evan grew up as a liberal Jew, only becoming a conservative after 9-11 when he realized how off base the left was in regards to terrorism. He launched onto the scene as a national conservative comedian in 2007 after giving a lecture to the Heritage Foundation, How Modern Liberals Think. The late Andrew Breitbart said it was "One of the five most important conservative speeches ever given." He has written a book,The KinderGarden of Eden: How the Modern Liberal Thinks, which expanded on his lecture. In it, he asks, "Can anyone even conceive of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank being asked to return for a second day of work at a factory, a farm or anyplace else where verbal nimbleness was of no use?" He also muses, "If it were truly "income inequality" that the Modern Liberal cares so much about, then why isn't there an "Occupy Hollywood" movement?"

Since I last spoke with him, Evan has become an adviser to the Ted Cruz campaign for president, and has been impressed with his intelligence, thoughtfulness and principles.

His comedy can be found on YouTube. Some of his most classic quotes:

"What Democrats call 'nuanced', most people refer to as 'stupidity.'"

"Academics act like they are important, but when something is academic it is meaningless. People say, 'It's academic, now let's get work done.'"

"There is no explanation for success if nothing is better than anything else and the greater the success the greater the injustice. Conversely and for the same reason, failure is de facto proof of victimization and the greater the failure, the greater the proof of the victim is, or the greater the victimization."

Evan's next tour date is February 17 in Scottsdale, and he plans to return to Chicago, Boston and New York next. He usually hangs around after shows with his book and meets everyone.

Evan enjoys singing karaoke in his spare time, and I got to hear him sing after the last show. He has a great voice and since he's learned how to make it as a conservative in entertainment, maybe we'll be seeing a crossover into the recording industry in the future.

Multi-talented.
It often happens if a person is so good at one thing, it often carries over.

Sayet read “Closing of the American Mind” by Bloom, and understands the philosophy and ideology behind the evil minds of the Socialists, Marxists, Satanists, Sodomites, Freudians, etc.,—all irrational vile, dehumanizing worldviews of slavery and depravity, which literally erases the Christian worldview of Reason and Science and God.

Maybe Bill Maher will “convert” too, (I pray for that), once they are confronted with Reality and truth. That is my hope but I am not holding my breath on that one. After all, great people like CS Lewis and William Wilberforce were atheists or hedonists prior to becoming profound Christians and having a profound effect on culture.

I love the logic and wisdom and sanity of Evan Sayet.
