The race for the White House comes down to one simple question. Who do you want nominating justices to the highest court in the land -- a Johnny-come-lately conservative or a proven constitutional conservative?
Now -- I want to say something to all you folks out there who profess to be good churchgoing Christians.
You could have prevented this from happening. But you refused to vote for Mitt Romney. You said he was too liberal. You said he was a Mormon. So you stayed home -- and Barack Obama got re-elected.
To paraphrase Bonhoeffer: not to vote is to vote.
So here we are, America -- at a crossroads.
Soon we will find out what Senate Republican backbones are made of. Will they have the courage to withstand the media firestorm and block President Obama's nominee?

Don't be a loser. If you're going to pick a single issue then pick immigration, abortion or the Second Amendment or something like that.
And if you think one Justice will be able to turn things around on whatever other issue you favor then you're whistling past the graveyard.
I will not vote for Jeb or Rubio if they turn out to be the Repugnant-one's choice. I will vote for whatever conservative nutjob the American Independent Party puts forth. And that nutjob just might be Trump.
Mutt was the answer?
I want great conservatives like Linda Graham, Kelly Ayotte, Murkowski, Susan Collins, Cory Gardner, John McCain, Jeff Flake, Orrin Hatch, Johnny Isakson, Bob Corker, Lamar Alexander & Rob Portman vetting the candidates.
They are great and would never confirm a RINO/liberal justice regardless of which GOPer or lame duck is in the WH.
Obama will nominate a black lesbian and the republicans will cave after being called racist, sexist and homophobic.
If Trump nominated his sister(Trump said “ I can not nominate my sister. It is a conflict of interest”) these scumbag senators would confirm her. That’s the problem not the WH. The Senate Republicans should be pounding the WH into what is the most conservative Justice to appoint.
40 Republicans and some tricked Democrats should have been cajoled into blocking Kennedy, Roberts & Souter.
The next president could appoint up to four justices as Scalia is dead and Kennedy, Ginsberg, and Breyer are all near or over 80.
Todd spouts the same ‘ol sh1t.
Uniparty needs complete removal from Republican party. By whatever means necessary. it is why we are in the mess we are in.
Since there is no way Cruz can win the general election , I think Cruz would be good on the Scotus ... hopefully President Trump will nominate him ...
A vote for Jeb or Marco is a vote for amnesty and the Latin steamroller. I can’t go there.
Romney was a far better choice than Obama. Duh.
The time for being choosy about your candidate is now, during the primaries. After the primaries are over and it’s down to two candidates, you choose who is best overall. That is never the democrat.
That’s beside the point.
Who keeps these geezers awake during hearings?
Sadly, how can the GOP “not” screw up everything?
Too late. They’re all cheats and liars. They should have thought about this when they were screwing me over. Only now when they are threatened do they come crawling saying that THIS time will be different.
To blame the voters for their weak candidate in Romney only convinces me further that they still haven’t faced up to who is really to blame for our current situation. I wonder which consultant told Mitt not to bring up Benghazi during the debate with Obama. Wasn’t me. Wasn’t the Christians he slams in this piece. Maybe if Mitt showed some spine people of all backgrounds would have rallied around him.
Yup. Blame the voters for their stupidity in the past for our current situation. See how far that gets you.
No, that is the point.
We must drop our personal preferences at the general election and vote for the best of two. Refusing to vote is irresponsible as is a protest vote for a vanity candidate.
I live in a deep blue liberal cesspool, but had we refused to vote, we wouldn’t have a great conservative governor right now. My state will almost certainly go dem, but if everyone had the attitude of my vote doesn’t count, there’s no hope at all.
My son at eve forgot to get an absentee ballot for a local election. Had he voted, they wouldn’t be screwing around months later still trying to settle a tie.
That’s why we are sunk without even getting into the pool. Our Republican primary voters have long made poor choices at nomination.
“Obama will nominate a black lesbian and the republicans will cave after being called racist, sexist and homophobic.”
She will also be a muslim so he can add xenophobic to the list.
No, it’s not the point that was made that I replied to. That was that Romney would have made conservative appointments to the court. All I did was post proof that he never had in MA.
