Pyror Moore II-compressedCHARLESTON, S.C. — During Saturday night’s Republican presidential debate in South Carolina, Donald Trump said that if he were to nominate a judge to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, he would consider Diane Sykes or Bill Pryor, the latter of which prosecuted “Ten Commandments Judge” Roy Moore.

Add to the list a judge that called Roe " “the worst abomination of constitutional law in our history”?

This just another example of Trump haters coming up with the most ridiculous excuses to bash Trump.

I’ve read that too. Sounds like as good of an explanation as any.

Cruz recommended Roberts (who for the majority of cases has been solid) only after his nomination by President Bush
________________________________________________
While Cruz was in DOJ, he was on the federal judge screening committee whose job was to do background work on potential federal court nominees, including to the Supreme Court. Therefore, Cruz can not pretend he was not instrumental in the Roberts appointment. Roberts later breathed life into the dead horse known as Obamacare at least twice. His judicial legislating from the bench was an anathema to Conservative jurisprudence and Roberts will be remembered for all time for his monumental betrayal of the Constitution and his country. How the guy can live with himself is hard to figure.

From Pryor's confirmation hearing:

But based on the comments Attorney General Pryor has made on this subject, I have got some real concerns that he cannot, because he feels these views so deeply and so passionately. Mr. Pryor has described the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade as, the creation--quote--this is not some liberal interest group quote; this is from General Pryor. He said it. Quote: ``Roe v. Wade is a creation,'' quote, ``out of thin air of a constitutional right to murder an unborn child.'' He has said that he, quote, ``will never forget January 22nd, 1973, the day seven members of our highest court ripped up the Constitution.'' Mr. Pryor has said he opposes abortion even in the cases of rape or incest, and would limit the right to choose to narrow circumstances where a woman's life is at stake. He has described Roe as, quote, ``the worst abomination in the history of constitutional law.'' Worse than Plessy v. Ferguson, worse than Dred Scott, worse than Korematsu.

“The odds that Trump will save the country are unknown, but they might be better than zero.”

Now that’s really reassuring. The odds he will save the country MIGHT be better than ZERO. And I’m supposed to overlook 100s of inconsistencies and his petty, juvenile behavior and just trust that he singlehandedly, with his incredible ability to make deals (except of course when those deals go bad and he uses the bankruptcy laws to screw creditors and vendors out of their hard-earned money) is gonna make everything terrific again?

Uh...count me out.

This comment after Trump just recommended Pryor, one of the most vocal justices on the bench to Roe vs. Wade?

He embarrassed himself with his legal reasoning and he knew it. But he still did it. Weird.

did you know Cruz wasn’t even in the Senate when Roberts was nominated? Or does that little fact not enter into your agenda driven equation?

And Cruz, as a lawyer, defended the Chinese!!!

Context matters.

He defended a Chinese company - against another Chinese company.
Which Chinese side were you on? Chinese company 1 or Chinese company 2?

He lost your vote from naming Pryor, one of the most vehement justices opposed to Roe vs. Wade, for the Supreme Court?

Pryor called Roe " “the worst abomination of constitutional law in our history”

He preferred Luttig. Ever know of a president who doesn’t always listen to all of his advisors?

He lost my vote last night on that and other issues. I was undecided between him and Cruz and now am solid for Cruz.

During the last debate, Trump sounded more like a democrat than a republican. He was even using THEIR talking points!

Did you notice he was the only one on the stage last night who didn’t bow his head for a moment of silent prayer for Antonin Scalia?

Yeah. I noticed that, too. I pointed it out to my husband. He just stood there and looked around the room like a naughty, haughty, child.
Anyone who knows Trumps recent past must assume Trump hated the guy. He was wayyyy too conservative for the NYC liberal.

"Far from it. He was returned to the bench as Chief Justice by the wise citizenry of Alabama."

He would be removed again for the same reasons if he repeated them.

"Please post a link or explain precisely why Roy Moore is a “nut” and precisely why Alabama removed him from the bench."

That's for you to research.

Why are you not discussing Trumps choice instead of deflecting to Cruz? I am not favoring Either one right now, but when everything is immediately turned into an attack instead of discussion it does nothing to sway me.
