I've read a lot of speculation that Robert's adopted Irish children through South America was very shady, and likely what he was blackmailed over.
If that is true, that shady adoption doesn't bode well for the character of Roberts.
In fact if he able to be blackmailed at all doesn't bode well for his character.

That’s just campaign talk from Trump. It means nothing. I’d expect him to nominate someone far worse once he has a grip on power.
Bill Pryor is a devout and observant Catholic and would be an outstanding Conservative SC Justice. I worked at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for 5 years, where Judge Pryor has served since 2004. Read his Wikipedia page. He originally was appointed to the Court by W. using a recess appointment. That so enraged Ted Kennedy, that Kennedy filed suit trying to prevent Pryor from being seated on the Court. Pryor was just carrying out and enforcing existing law in the Roy Moore case.
We’re one vote away from losing our religious liberties, the second Amendment among other thing...and yet people want to play around by voting for Trump just to send a messag to the establishment: THE STAKES ARE WAY TOO HIGH, people..!

Cruz advocated for Michael Luttig. He did not nominate Roberts. He also was not yet in the Senate, and therefore did not vote for Roberts. Most conservatives supported him once he was the nominee.
So he’s not Cruz’s failure. Cruz had nothing to do with nominating him and little to do with his being confirmed.
