It was weird that an angry Code Pink-style protester interrupted last night's Republican presidential debate with a barrage of familiar Democratic talking points about George W. Bush - that he lied the country into a disastrous war in Iraq, failed to prevent the September 11 attacks, and even whiffed on an opportunity to kill Osama bin Laden. It was especially weird that the protestor was one Donald J. Trump, who happens to be the front-runner for the Republican nomination.
Trump didn't just call the Iraq war a mistake. He called it "a big fat mistake." And he didn't call it an inadvertent mistake because of faulty intelligence. "They lied!" he thundered. "They said there were weapons of mass destruction .. and they knew there were none. Trump even groused that the war cost $5 trillion that could have helped rebuild America's crumbling infrastructure, a common Democratic attack line that sounded like a canine talking point at a feline convention, especially in military-heavy South Carolina.

I voted in 1980. I was too young to vote prior to 1980. I have voted every election since old enough, but this may very possibly be one I sit out.
The difference between Trump and Hillary is that Trump would get more cooperation from the GOP-E, while they would put up a token fight against Hillary. The Supreme Court will probably be a dead issue by November, with 5 solid, never-varying leftists using it to extend government power.
But since Donald Trump says his ‘there is a constitutional right to partial-birth abortions’ sister would make a great Supreme Court nomination, “the best”...why should I care? If he thinks an extreme leftist would be great for the court, then I have ZERO reason to vote for him.

Not the pretense for war put forth by Bush, which was false. Nor was killing some Muslim extremists the only consequence. It has turned the Middle East into a seething cesspool of terrorism, refugee crisis, etc.
Trump will beat the liar among evangelicals. The cat is out of the bag.

Please then provide a list of all the terrorist attacks that happened here after 911.
EVERYONE at the time expected more attacks to come here on US soil. None did.
We expected Beslan style attacks on schools here; none happened.
We expected shopping malls or football stadiums to be attacked; and none were.
Maybe you have forgotten what the post 911 world was like.

Yeah, I will. I’ve been to Afghanistan. My two oldest kids have both been to Iraq. My SIL did two tours in Iraq and is on 90% disability - and it was worth it! We killed uncounted thousands of terrorists, and kept them anchored in Iraq and Afghanistan for years - keeping America safe.
If people prefer fighting terrorists in our schools, shopping malls and offices...it was a mistake. But I preferred killing them in mass overseas!
Bushes in charge = Lots of dead people (American and foreign).

Don’t start after the worst attack on US soil. He did not keep those in NY safe. He sacrificed our Constitutional Rights after 9-1.

Nope. But it happened. And while it was politically incorrect for GWB to say it, I heard generals saying it in private at the time. I said it, as did a LOT of officers.
GWB’s fault was that he didn’t defend it. It anchored them there for a while, and was a strategic gamble wasted during the 7 years of Obama. But it was not wrong, it was not a mistake, and I’m glad I went and glad my kids went.
Thats the thing about history it allows you to look back on things. Of course it was a mistake at this point.
Fact: The World Trade Center/Pentagon was attacked on Bush’s watch. The meme that “he protected us” is a blatant lie on its face. Osama kicked our ass and continues to do so from the grave as we spend billions of dollars hardening our transportation, infrastructure, and sports venues. Yes, we must defend overseas now, yet another Bush legacy.
Yes, but once we were there the withdrawal of our troops by the Head Muzzie in Charge was by far worse. now we have more troops in Iraque than Bush left.
We will have to disagree on the broader picture. I agree Bush did nothing to respond and left office as one of the weakest Presidents ever. This gave us Obama (with the help of a lame candidate 2x0.
But the war was a mistake, despite the valiant people who served a bad cause.
That’s the point though. Bush wants it both ways. He campaigns on an untruth that W kept us safe.......As long as you don’t count the biggest attack on American soil.
Also, what is the timeline for each new president. How many months/years after a newly sworn in Pres. are we to hunker down because they don’t know the dangers the country faces? Isn’t that the point of electing a particular person because they do know the dangers facing the country?
I have already seen posted (on Dr. Kate’s View) that one person voting in the primaries, happened to opt to click on the option to view his voting responses before dropping it in the box, and the vote he cast for Trump had punched in as a vote for Jeb. True or not, I don’t know, but the biggest problem we will face is the vote count...everyone who votes by computer should take advantage of the option to review their ballot before dropping it in the box.
For that piece of of fakery to be true Numbers USA would have to be lying. Anybody that really wants the truth will believe Numbers USA.
GB1 failed the first time and he wanted to preserve daddy’s legacy.
I didn’t think about this until you wrote this, but the hold the parents have on their kids is VERY unnatural. I have never seen grown kids in their 60’s and George soon to be 70 so “scared of disappointing their parents” or plainly scared of their parents in my life. There is some weirdness in the Bush family.
