Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's death played a big role during Saturday night's Republican presidential debate on February 13th. One of the big questions voters now have for the candidates is: who would replace Scalia?
Scalia was known for being an extremely conservative justice - and had many fans.
Donald Trump has floated a former Wisconsin supreme court justice as a possible candidate for Supreme Court.
"We could have a Diane Sykes, or a Bill Pryor. We have some fantastic people, but this is a tremendous blow to conservatism," said Trump.

Do a google search, I imagine you would find that information.
Thought so.
I thought he meant Wanda Sykes And Richard Pryor.
? I provided links to their biographies. I know nothing about either one of them. If you want to know more, go to the links or google their names. They appear very conservative, however, as said I don’t know.
Do not give me a hard time for not doing your research for you.
If that person hasn't lost any mental acuity and is in good physical shape, why not? We'd probably be better off if the SC were populated with elders with a lifetime of wisdom and experience, and who won't be there for 20 years or more.
Look at this SC. We hear about all of the friendships with each other and socializing with the DC and other elite. That has to have an effect on decision making. If justices were older when nominated, more frequent turnover would keep the clubbiness aspect in check.
cruz knew Roberts was a homo???
PROVE IT!!!!!!
you should be banned just for that comment alone...
Thanks for your posts/research. Educational.
Thanks.
Roberts was young not enough of a record and LOOK what the hell happened!!! Obamacare is one of the worst rulings EVER!!!!
Calling someone ignorant does NOT enhance your cause!!!!
That is true. I mean we are talking about Cruz on the court and his record is very small but many think he would do well on the court. Wouldn’t that be hilarious if Obama chose Cruz.....I bet the Republicans would block it. lol.
If Ted Cruz doesn’t become president in the 2016 election, he would be my dream USSC justice appointee. A true constitutional conservative.
Then why did Roberts vote against same-sex marriage?
Roberts is a conservative justice who voted the way conservatives want on almost every single issue. With Obamacare, it appears his conservatism made him not want to make the court responsible for a dramatic overturning of law. Not a great decision, but generally speaking it’s better for justices not to make huge waves with their decisions. Usually when that happens it’s bad for conservatives. Repealing Obamacare legislatively is not impossible. It’s not like Roe vs. Wade where Roberts would have had to say the Constitution makes it impossible to repeal Obamacare.
You now have me wondering how you seem to be so sure someone is a homosexual. You know this from personal experience? No one else has brought up such a definitive claim against Roberts.
Whether Cruz had the same opinion, no one knows, but regardless at the time of Roberts appointment and confirmation to SCOTUS, Cruz was not in any line of authority to nominate nor confirm.
Since the majority of Freepers also supported Roberts nomination, I would suggest that they not be allowed to pick the next president because it’s apparent they are not a very good judge of character.
You have no idea if Roberts is gay, just like we don’t know if you are gay.
In the meantime, give me someone from Florida State and LSU who knows how people really live and how laws really need to work and personal freedom functions for the betterment of all society.
Hope real time America is getting the message!
I can’t seem to find verification to your statement. Perhaps you could point me in the direction of proof?
“Do we really want to appoint a 67 year old? I donât think we should have anyone over 50. Scalia was 50 when he was appointed and we got close to 30 years of his brilliance. With Janice we might only have 10 years at most and God only knows who the President will be then.”
I agree 100 percent on nominating a younger jurist! Like you said Scalia was 50 when nominated and gave almost 30 years of conservative service!
