Liberals love to "find" things in the Constitution that simply aren't there. The most egregious example is the right to abortion that the Supreme Court claimed to discover in Roe v. Wade. Another liberal myth is that the Constitution provides for the "separation of church and state."
MSNBC's Joy Reid today told the Rev. Mike Gonzalez, head of Ted Cruz's evangelical movement in South Carolina, that "separation of church and state is not a myth, it's a constitutional fact." What's worse, Reid alleged that as president, Cruz would "ignore" the part of the Constitution prohibiting the establishment of a national religion. She in essence falsely accused Cruz of planning to establish evangelical Christianity as the law of the land.

That's an old stalking horse. At this point, i'm all for it just to piss off pr*cks that say stupid stuff like this.
Welcome to the official Evangelical Christian Church of America!
MSNBC’s Joy Reid falsely accuses Reid of planning to “ignore” the Establishment Clause.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
It would be easier to herd cats than get evangelicals into same church.
Well, establishing a national Evangelical church actually *would* be unconstitutional.
But I doubt Cruz wants to do that.
Reid took quite a hit to the head from his execise machine.
This Reid probably did too.
LOL, well said!
But I doubt Cruz wants to do that.
So does every sane and rational member of the planet. Like I said, this is the same tired old accusation Liberals always trot out when faced with a person who doesn't worship at their alter of secularism.
One of my happiest moments in the last five years was hearing that Reid is permanently blind in one eye following his beat-down.
Groan...No conservative would ever entertain such folly as a National Church.
LOL, liberals. Never put it past them to clutch their pearls over nothing.
I’ll give Cruz some credit where it’s due, in a recent interview with CBN, he did flatly state that he’s not running for the Pastor-In-Chief, that he’s not ashamed to be Christian but the job of President is secular and he’d be President of everybody, atheists and all faiths. It was a spot-on perfect answer to defuse all of these liberals who faint every time someone mentions Jesus.
Not a fan of some of his tent-preacher type rhetoric, but I’ve seen this game enough to know that he’s just trying to whip up excitement and get out the vote. Can’t really fault him for that.
The thread is not about Harry R. It involves a MSNBC
news idiot named Reid.
I challenge Ms Reid to show me where a “separation of church and state” appears in the Constitution. What the founders precluded was the establishment of an analogue of the state mandated Anglican Church. They in no way precluded political leaders from being informed by their religious faith, which was Christian or Deist in nature.
... who is both female and black.
You can smell their desperation.
News from Next Week — Ted Cruz wants to bring back slavery for all blacks!
Nothing new, Reid is part of the left’s attacks on Christians and Jews period. Ol’ one eye Harry is a wack job, a sick old man.
Which is why so many towns in the midwest had a First Reformed Church, a Second Reformed Church and eventually a third church - wisely almost never named the "Third Reformed Church" - made up of people who thought the other two weren't "reformed" enough.
Mr. niteowl77
You forgot stupid as well. Although that in no way connects the other adjectives.
Well, that sure sounded like what Heidi was talking about.
