1. According to the interview, this ad was made a couple of months ago. So there is a long range strategy showing here for Cruz's team. This ad wasn't made in reaction to Iowa or New Hampshire. It was a casting call for a commercial for an unknown candidate.
2. This woman is a possible Cruz supporter. A sign that his support is wider than just evangelicals, as the media has tried to push.
3. On this woman's resume, which is more likely? She listed her appearances on Star Trek Voyager and the 2000 Disney Channel movie she was in? or some of her other movies?
So why did Cruz yank the ad?
“.....some of her other movies?”..........
These too need to be named as I believe they were “porn” movies, were they not?
Eh, while I think this is pretty much of a non story, Cruz possibly should have just let the ad run. I mean, the woman is apparently trying to turn a page in her life.
And, with the woman at the well, Jesus refused to condemn her as the pharisees wanted, but simply told her “neither do I condemn you”, and “go and sin no more”. If the evangelicals in SC wouldn’t be able to grasp this, maybe they need to take a longer look in the mirror.
It’s a no win error for Cruz either way.
1) He looks like a self-righteous stereotype that thinks that no one can have legitimate work after doing something like adult movies. The whole “slut shaming” concept.
2) He looks like a hypocrite to his pious holier-than-thou support base if he kept the ad going.
When you define yourself too narrowly, this is what you have easily distracting your campaign.
There is a difference between the “soft” core movies she was in and “hard” core porn. They were likely on late night HBO and Cinemax.
...or was it "Star Trek Voyeur"?
I had to laugh at one of the Youtube comments:

Methinks Jake Tapper wants to tap ‘er.
“If the evangelicals in SC wouldnât be able to grasp this, maybe they need to take a longer look in the mirror.”
Cant have it both ways.
Cant look at Candidate X and screech on about how sleazy and immoral he is in order to appeal to these people, but then hope they just overlook this.....because âgo and sin no moreâ.
George W. almost lost in 2000 on the DUI thing because some of these people peeled off and stayed home rather than vote for a person that drank too much, one night, years ago.
Because I feel no need to repeat them here on the forum. You know what I meant as does everyone else.
If it was me, I would have pulled the ad, but that is me.
But now because of this non controversy, Ted Cruz is getting major name recognition right before a state primary. Because of this happening this ad is getting aired on every tv station as news and I am sure this ad is now reaching a much wider audience.
They can make a big deal out of Cruz, because Cruz is a social conservative and espouses Christianity and morals.
Trumps supporters are using Cruz' own rules against him; an Alinsky tactic.
It's the same tactic progressives use against the conservatives, constantly. They can't be guilty of moral offenses, because progressives have no morals. Yet they will yell from the rooftops any perceived moral offenses of the right.
But Tippee Tapper can’t find the time to interview Paula Jones, Juanita Broderick, Kathleen Willey et al.
This non-issue is liberal political masturbation. It shall bear no fruit.
Isn’t there something in the big book about “pride cometh before the fall”?
I think that tactic is a wee bit older than Saul Alinsky...
Cruz pulled the ad before Trump supporters even chimed in.
“I think that tactic is a wee bit older than Saul Alinsky”
It is. Don’t set up rules and moral codes for others you can’t live by yourself. That has nothing to do with Alinsky. Or to put it another way, if you want to enforce YOUR rules on others, you should be able to live by your own code.
Apparently, only DemocRATS can behave in a questionable, if not criminal, manner and be subsequently absolved/forgiven.
If this young woman was supporting Hillary! or The Bern, we never would have heard about her.
Lol...does Cruz actually have a rule against soft pron actresses appearing in his campaign ads?
How about hiring sleaze-bag dirty tricks campaign directors?
Likely much less noxious than the SB halftime show.
