Guns don't kill; people kill.

I just happened to check out the heyjackass site today, and nearly 15% of the 77 homicides in ChiTown this year have been something other than guns - knives, or blunt force trauma.

Probably some chica ‘felt’ disrespected or one of the homies didn’t want to date them.

A vague as the story is, I will jump to my own conclusion: It was a duel.

While clearly sad and tragic, so were the cop killings this week in Baltimore and Fargo North Dakota.

I wonder which of these will be the first for Obama to comment on?

Before the invention of the gun people killed in a variety of ways:

Before the black powder age, people that championed against the top weapon of the day usually ended up skewered or impaled by something pointy, spiky, and generally unpleasant.

Thank you!
Guns do leave a "footprint." A 2x4 or a tire iron, not so much.

In our school district (ranging from very upper middle class to working class, with most somewhere in between), there’s a cop in every school from middle school up.

Oops, got it backwards.

Murderers must have some money as guns are NOT cheap.
Guns are also VERY traceable.

Good luck on that.

Before the black powder age, people that championed against the top weapon of the day usually ended up skewered or impaled by something pointy, spiky, and generally unpleasant.

It might also have depended on the gender, age and occupation of the murderer.
Women tend to use poison.
Men tend to impale, stab, beat, etc.
The younger men were probably more impetuous; the older men were probably a bit cagier, not wanting to be caught.
The farmer was armed with his farming tools. The same with the carpenter and smithy.
The wealthy might have hired out the first "Have Gun, Will Travel" Paladin, murder for hire.

Interesting topic.
By the way, Cain killed Abel, but with a stone or not, he did do him in. Hey, another way to murder: a big stone is a VERY heavy, blunt instrument.

Later reports have said it was a murder/suicide pact.

Over a guy perhaps? How very sad. Prayers for the loved ones, especially the loved ones of the innocent girl.
