Something Very Disturbing Spotted In A Morgan Stanley Presentation

One of the most surprising comments this year came from a closed session on fintech where I sat next to someone in policy circles who argued that we should move quickly to a cashless economy so that we could introduce negative rates well below 1% – as they were concerned that Larry Summers' secular stagnation was indeed playing out and we would be stuck with negative rates for a decade in Europe. They felt below (1.5)% depositors would start to hoard notes, leading to yet further complexities for monetary policy.

Once the move to the cashless society, then it will be a bail-in on all bank accounts to keep the fairy dust and merry-go-round a turning. A very bad day is a coming folks and it will all come tumbling down after the election.

That’s not the only, or the worst, thing of which a cashless society will be a harbinger.

Cruz is a nutter. I don’t want his finger anywhere near the nuclear button. God might tell him to push it.

We haven’t stopped the baby murder so if we head to a Godless ConMan or a Godless Commie, what’s the diff?

I doubt we have the sense to do better.

This country just exceeded $19 trillion in external debt with no end in sight. Our debt now surpasses our annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and we join economic powerhouses like Spain and Greece. Taken as a whole the 28 members of the European Union are at a debt level of 162 % of their combined GDP and the G-20 members are at 74.8%. With so many of the largest economies in the world behaving so irresponsibly, we are probably in trouble.

Central bankers should understand that printing more money and driving interest rates into negative territory is really a bad idea. But then just how squishy are they when comes to resisting the anxiety of politicians whose understanding of economics is limited to believing only large increases in the money supplies allow them to keep their jobs.

Trying to pass laws against the business cycle is never a good idea. If humans were meant to control rather than respond to the economy, God would have given them moral courage and infallible intellects.

More anti-Christian bigotry - this is sadly becoming awfully common here on FR, especially since the Trump phenomenon took over.

Negative interest rates is Capitalism eating its seed corn.

The days of individuals, families or groups saving up to start a business is going to get much harder when your savings are worth less each day.

More like anti- pseudo Christian cult concerns. I am an Evangelical, theologian, bible scholar, church historian and cult deprogrammer. I have a ministry teaching believersho w to spot cults and witness to cultists and to help those leaving cults transition into Christianity.

Cruz’s statements, misuse of Scripture, and Dominionist theology is outside the scope of Christianity. It has nothing to do with Trump.

There are degrees of Christianity from the gregorian chant folks to the snake handlers. Cruz seems to be more on the snake handler branch.

A Christian doesn’t mock Christian behavior. Is it “the Holy Ghost” that you find creepy? Or that someone relies on Christ for direction and inspiration?

"Imagine what the democrats will do with this."

No.

Just *NO*.

I will not predicate my choices on what Democrats will do with this or any other thing, imagined or real.

That's right up there with worrying about who the Legacy Media deems to be an "electable" candidate. (Which is just their way of saying that someone will be either an easy target for their anointed choice or interchangeable with said choice.)

(And just to be clear, I am both Pro Trump *and* Pro Cruz. I see value in both their candidacies and I believe both to be men who truly want the best for America. I just wish they would realize that about each other.)

But banks charging you interest for something that they created out of thin air with no backing whatsoever is not an issue?

Yes, it is. I hadn’t noticed anything strange about asking God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to use one (as He wills, it is always understood). That’s been everyday Christian language all my life, and I don’t consider myself a “nutter”.

I disagree with Dominionist theory, I hadn’t known he followed it.
