Full Title: Cruz Mocks Fox News' Reporting on Rubio: 'Looking Forward' to 'Wall-to-Wall Coverage' of My Third-Place Finish
Wednesday at an event in Myrtle Beach, SC, Republican presidential hopeful responded to a question about a statement he had made about his competitor Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% coming off of a third-place finish in Iowa a week earlier.
Cruz had said "bronze was the new gold." But after coming off his own third-place finish in New Hampshire, Cruz took a jab at Fox News for its coverage of third-place finishers by seemingly mocking it as he said he was looking forward to their coverage of his third-place finish.
"I'm looking forward to a wall-to-wall coverage of Fox News of the impressive third-place finish, which Marco Rubio got," Cruz said. "So, I'm sure that's what we'll see on every show on Fox today, the shockingly impressive third-place finish of Cruz."
Cruz went on to...

Ted Cruz 2016!!!

I don’t care who you support-that’s funny!
If Rubio had spent such a miniscule amount of money and been 3rd there would have been amazed wonder at Fox. It would have been the “Story of the night.”
FoxNews. No Fox. No News.
Well, if it was a third place finish like Rubio’s within a reasonable distance of 1st place, maybe they would.
Good one, Cruz. In our weird world bronze IS the new gold. Still I’m hoping for Trump. I’ve been wanting a mean old school PawPaw in office since my Gingrich got rejected (by a lot of nit picky FReepers, lol).
Yeah right...and Rupert Murdoch is an anti-establishment conservative.
The fact is, a third place finish is an also ran story. There has to be an angle to make the coverage interesting.
Rubio showing good in Iowa and then not in New Hampshire was an interesting angle.
I suppose the press could have focused on Ted going from first to third, but I sure wouldn’t crave that if I were his supporter
Cruz continues to expose the faux-conservatives and RINO guardians in government and media. He is not going to stop anytime soon.
Cruz is right about this.
Rubio 3rd in Iowa: wow! wow! wow! wow!
Cruz 3rd in NH: ho-hum.
Cant wait to see how Fox handles a distant-second place Cruz finish in SC.
I couldn’t believe the way faux went on and on about Rubio’s third place win. Ridiculous.
They deserve to be mocked.
I’m supporting Trump until the bitter end.
:)
You can say that again. Regardless of who wins, can you imagine the size of the national organization he is going to have at his fingertips when this thing is over? Oh boy!
Look, I don’t like the guy, but it shocked me how well he did. That was a story. Then the debate...
Flash in the pan.
Although not a Cruz supporter, he is right. On CNN last night, they were basically ignoring Trump and focusing on Kasich, Bush and Rubio. One of the commentators remarked, we have overlooked Cruz - and they did. They all fawned over Rubio’s 3rd place finish in IA, We all owe Chris Christe a debt of gratitude for his smack down of Rubio last Saturday night. And, I mean - all Trump and Cruz supporters should be thanking him.
Agreed.
The more the candidates can mock the “press”, the better off the campaign is viewed.
LOL! Love the sarcasm!
Ted is engaging in a battle of wits with media networks loaded with unarmed enemies
That is a Great Line
Didn’t surprise me.
You never know what’ll happen in Iowa.
I was surprised how well Jeb did in NH tough.
I don’t think we should write him off just yet.
Trump won NH but I’m not going to get too excited until he wins a few more states.
Trying not to get too attached just in case. :)
I understand.
The polls are much better in primary states.
That Iowa Caucus was a mess
If Ted has learned anything from Trump, it’s to use the media to your advantage. Say things that are controversial, make the media want to discuss why you would say this or that, or why you would have a certain view point...but put stuff out there to pique their curiosity and cause them to report on it non-stop.
Although, unlike Trump, Ted does these things with class and dignity, without insulting large sections of the population.
