Obama celebrates presidency as it unravels
The Washington Times ^ | February 10, 2016 | by Dave Boyer

As President Obama travels to Illinois Wednesday to celebrate the beginnings of his presidency, he's also watching his legacy erode before his very eyes.

On the eve of the president’s nostalgic trip to Springfield, the Supreme Court dealt a stunning blow to his Clean Power Plan Tuesday night, ordering a stay of the EPA's regulation to cut carbon emissions. White House aides said they were surprised by the ruling and vowed to fight on in federal appeals court.

The results of the New Hampshire primaries Tuesday night weren't exactly promising for a so-called third Obama term, either. In the Democratic primary, Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont trounced former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the candidate preferred by the White House to carry on Mr. Obama's policies.

Ok, this article is confusing to me. It asserts that SCOTUS has ruled against the EPA. It goes on to state that the administration is going to fight the ruling in an appeals court.

It will give them time for a little are twisting on the USSC.

Someone on the USSC didn't get the memo.

The second time before the USSC will be the charm.

That is the real legacy (and Ferguson/Baltimore will forever be linked to his second term, as blacks realized the clock was running out and they were worse off than when he was elected); the false legacy (for consumption years down the road, when nobody living will remember the reality) will be that he saved the environment, saved the economy, raised blacks from their misery, cured cancer, blah blah blah.

For all of the nostalgia about JFK, few people can point to any real accomplishments during his presidency; whatever involvement he had in the space program, he was six feet under for years before men landed on the moon. Obama’s legacy will be the same; for the time being, he’ll be lauded for outright false accomplishments (5% unemployment) and good intentions (regardless of the lack of results).

I hope Ferguson/Baltimore is forever hung around his neck as Monica Lewinsky is for BJ Clinton; let us do our part to make it so.

” For all of the nostalgia about JFK, few people can point to any real accomplishments during his presidency-—”

JFK was a beneficiary of “The Died Young” syndrome.

Had he lived until age 90 he would have been just another ex-president.

The same can be said about Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. They are considered great actors because of the early deaths.
They were so-so actors.

I remember Salieri saying,in the movie “Amadeus”, that no one remembered his musical genius because he lived too long. Mozart had died young and was remembered and adored.

Good points; outside of attempting to help South Vietnam, I can’t think of anything positive about JFK (or negative, for that matter). The whole “staring down Kruschev” thing turned out to be a hoax (we withdrew missiles from Turkey in exchange for the withdrawal of missiles from Cuba); I don’t know what else he even allegedly accomplished.
