JFK was a beneficiary of “The Died Young” syndrome.
Had he lived until age 90 he would have been just another ex-president.
The same can be said about Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. They are considered great actors because of the early deaths.
They were so-so actors.
I remember Salieri saying,in the movie “Amadeus”, that no one remembered his musical genius because he lived too long. Mozart had died young and was remembered and adored.

Good points; outside of attempting to help South Vietnam, I can’t think of anything positive about JFK (or negative, for that matter). The whole “staring down Kruschev” thing turned out to be a hoax (we withdrew missiles from Turkey in exchange for the withdrawal of missiles from Cuba); I don’t know what else he even allegedly accomplished.
