As President Obama travels to Illinois Wednesday to celebrate the beginnings of his presidency, he's also watching his legacy erode before his very eyes.
On the eve of the presidentâs nostalgic trip to Springfield, the Supreme Court dealt a stunning blow to his Clean Power Plan Tuesday night, ordering a stay of the EPA's regulation to cut carbon emissions. White House aides said they were surprised by the ruling and vowed to fight on in federal appeals court.
The results of the New Hampshire primaries Tuesday night weren't exactly promising for a so-called third Obama term, either. In the Democratic primary, Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont trounced former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the candidate preferred by the White House to carry on Mr. Obama's policies.

Me likey epa stay.
“third Obama term”?! Good Lord! We’ve barely survived the 1st 2. Time for a little liberty and freedom type stuff.
Ok, this article is confusing to me. It asserts that SCOTUS has ruled against the EPA. It goes on to state that the administration is going to fight the ruling in an appeals court.
How? SCOTUS is superior to any lower court.

How does a regulation differ from a law?
I think Obama planned to drop the dime on Hillary after she won the nomination, allowing Biden to ride in on his white horse to save the day. Then Obama would pardon Hillary on his way out and Biden begins Obama’s third term. If Bernie wins the nomination that plan goes out the window. He needs to scupper Sanders somehow.
I don’t think the country has gone so far down the tubes (Yet) that Sanders can win the general. At least I hope not. But if anyone can pull off a Sanders win, the GOP will find a way.
That has to be wrong. I read somewhere yesterday that the stay was issued by a federal court.
This is the EPA’s second or third try to do an end run around the law with these regs. which have been declared unlawful. When are they going to be hit with a major fine/contempt ruling?
Congress is totally powerless in this and every other matter so the fight is between 4 justices and a waffle on one side and 4 justices plus the president, EPA, CIA, NSA, IRS, BATFE, UN, NYT, federal reserve, SPCA, and everyone else you can think of.
I wonder who will win?
So the POS is going to palm springs to go golfing. lol
My theory is that if she lost YUGE in NH she will be indicted!-)
I think they only put a stay on it until it can be handled in the lower courts later this year.
Obama’s greatest “legacy” will be the erosion of race relations.
His election to the presidency has nothing to do with it.
His actions and comments DURING his presidency has everything to do with it.
For that he will be remembered.
.
Easy. Nominate Jeb.
That’s my understanding too. That the Supreme Court put a stay on the EPA regs until the lower courts hear the case. The Supremes did not rule on the merits of the case they just blocked the new EPA regs pending what happens in the lower court.
I keep telling my sons that they will look back on the Fredo Toonces Dogeater years as the worst in their lives. They both know they’ll be cleaning up from this human stopped up toilet for a generation
i’ll take a shot....
the congress writes a law allowing a regulation to be written. To implement the regulation, there are then rules
