It has nothing to do with looking down on someone who uses foul language. It’s about disapproving of using it in a public forum that is supposed to be an all-ages, family-friendly event. Children routinely appear at and attend political rallies.
The “understanding” of when to use those words and when not to use them goes out the window when people start using them in open, public settings. It’s no different than nudity. If Trump gave his speech naked, it would seem shocking. The more and more the behavior is repeated, especially by people who are looked to as leaders, the more normalized it becomes and its taboo is removed.

I’ve voted for McCain exactly once. That’s when FReepers convinced me that I was voting for the ‘lesser of two evils’ and ‘really voting for Palin’.

Ted Cruz is a typical preacher’s boy. He knows the buttons to push to get the evangelicals whipped up. But he also knows how to play dirty politics when it suits him.
He did shut down the gov’t and turn public opinion against the Republicans - not the democrats. He was so inelegant that people only thought of their loss of income and had NO idea why this was being done to them. He’s ineffective.
As far as his personal life... well, I could go the Christian route and discount it all by saying, “A person is not saved by their works, only by the acknowledgment of JC” or I could tell the truth.
Human beings will help family. If he *hadn’t* done the things that you listed then he’d be a truly villainous character. I’ve done some pretty heroic things for the individuals in my life. Am I qualified to be POTUS?

I come from a military family. My husband did 3 tours in Korea and 2 in Nam including bombing Hanoi during the Christmas bombings..every hour on the hour. My father was retired military and retired CIA and served in WW2 in the battle of the midway. My brother in law was at the Pentagon on 9/11 when they were bombed and they would never use obscene language in front of children. My son in law is a rancher and trucker. They respect children. Do not try to pass Trump the fraud as even knowing what these men endure. He also supports the Fed govt controlling Fed lands over State control. If he becomes president and I seriously doubt that he will....we will be in a dangerous mess. Trump never gets his hands dirty.
You did not see the video did you? Highly highly suggest you watch it before jumping to the conclusion you are leaning towards. If a woman in the crowd shouts out Patton is a pussy... how would Churchill have handled it? For a political neophyte Trump is dangerously good.

Donald Trump should have asked her to not repeat the slur, and certainly not repeated it himself.
Patton and Churchill ?
Let’s say it’s Feb-1945, after the Battle of the Buldge.
Or perhaps 1943 after Patton’s capture of Messina on Sicily.
Churchill would have paused in his speech (after the woman yelled-out), silently waved to a policeman, and had the damsel escorted away.
Even had Patton had heard the woman’s remark, Churchill would have not repeated the insult.
Why ?
Patton was a lot of things, and certainly not a saint.
But no one called Patton a “pussy”, especially the Nazis.
Ted Cruz is no “pussy” either. He stood his political ground against Amnesty and ObamaCare against suicidal political fire.
Donald Trump knows this.

Other men would have killed Donald Trump for his stupidity.
