Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton just gave his critics all the ammunition they need.

Already under fire for how he conducts himself on the field, Newton went silent after his team's 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Super Bowl 50, sulking at the podium and essentially refusing to answer questions.

But he was old enough to be talking trash all week. The Denver D told him to STFU and now he’s crying. Guess the Denver D didn’t care what color he was.

He could have had the ball. It was right there. Yeah, six hundred pounds was also headed for it but there are a lot of QB’s would have gotten in there to try and save the game (Rothlesberger). This fumble ended the game. Had this been the first quarter, or if Carolina had something going, I might have given him a pass. But it wasn’t, and by backing away, he showed that he didn’t want it as badly as the others.

I agree, Brees is class, and I’m not a Saints fan.

I was a total Cam Newton fan until this play. During 1/2 time a commentator stated the league needed to step up to win.

With the game on the line the MVP stepped back on not recovering his fumble.

While a gifted athlete, he did not demonstrate the heart to won. He lost all my support on that play.

"...that must be his new dance, the newton chicken..."

Newton's 3rd Law of Physics (appended)...

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction... like running away from a fumble in the Superbowl.

In a world with so many classless people he joined that class long ago. I’ve never heard anything very noble about him. Now he melts down bigtime and those who might have been rooting for him, he turned them into detractors with his lack of humility.

It’s bad enough this “superman” sulked out of the presser, but that replay of him not jumping on the fumble shows lack of heart. Brady, Wilson, Brees, either Manning, so many other QBs would have surely went for it, and it looks like he had a good shot at recovering.

I have no sympathy for him.

I don’t enjoy people that don’t have humility. If he showed class, I would have felt for him. I just don’t enjoy cocky jerks who pout when things don’t go their way.

His handlers will get him to apologize

He needs to get new handlers but not mature enough to realize it.

The Broncos also hit him 7 more times than anyone else did this season.

Actually I would think most of the world feels the way you do. Even those who make $$$$ off him....but they cant say it....God knew what he was doing when he made it so know one can read our thoughts.

Before he prematurely ended his post-game news conference, Newton said the Panthers were outplayed by the Broncos, but the NFL MVP vowed to be back.

"We had our opportunities," said Newton, who was 18 of 41 for 245 yards with an interception and two lost fumbles that led to the only Broncos touchdowns.

"It wasn't nothing special they did. We dropped balls, turned the ball over, gave up sacks, threw errant passes. They scored more points than we did."

What more did he owe them? Tears? Bitching? Growls? Much ado about an understandable reaction to losing the big one.

Russell Wilson was 26 last year during the Super Bowl... compare his post game conference to Newton’s..

Wilson suffered a devastating interception that ended the game, but showed class and character after.

I would take Wilson over Newton any day of the year, though the NFL is trying to force Newton as the future face of the league.

If it was a laptop, Cam would have held onto it.

“I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to.”

Now it makes sense...this explains the little two-step, side shuffle that he did instead of diving for his fumbled ball.
