MANCHESTER, N.H. - A malfunctioning Marco Rubio crashed as he was overloaded by attacks last night from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tried to portray the Florida U.S. senator as a Washington robot pre-programmed by political consultants during a high-stakes Republican debate.

I live in Boston, and am familiar with the New Hampshire electorate. If they were watching last night, it's not good for Rubio. A lot of his support will likely move to Christie or Trump.

I'll bet that Rubio now comes in 4th or 5th in New Hampshire.

Mario Rubco ended his political career the day he schemed with Schumer and the Gang against the citizens and the rule of law.

The Cheap Labor Express sure is having a much harder time this time sticking us with an amnesty candidate to prevent us from stopping them.

I think Rubio slips to 3rd, but despite what many people are saying, I think Christie really helped himself and moves to the fourth slot.

Christie played perfect to the New England sensibilities. He was aggressive, just the right amount of abrasive, and looked like he was going after Rubio because he was tired of the act.

I can’t count the times I’ve seen friends from Massachusetts or New Hampshire act the exact same way. Christie connected with people like that. Nationally? No, Christie won’t budge the national polls, but I think he did breach the double digit mark among New Hampshire voters.

Rubio demonstrated a knowledge of foreign policy and Obama’s thinking that was impressive. Christie came across as what he us - a lying, loud mouthed arrogant bully, devoid of the accomplishments that accompany Trump.

What else could he do?

Rubio is emblematic of today's attitudes where everyone gets a trophy. He's a guy who's never actually accomplished ANYTHING, comes in THIRD in Iowa and gets so-called "pundits" to label that a 'WIN'. In my day, third place was a LOSER.

Wow. I never watch debates as I always read the transcripts. BUT ... with nothing on I thought, wth.

HOW did Rubio EVER get elected to ANYTHING?? What an unmitigated disaster.

Amen. Still is a loser, it’s just that Rubio can’t understand that.

His canned statements pale in comparison to Cruz's thinking on the fly (and even Christie) and Trump's politically incorrect attacks. With his style he will lose to Hillary in debates.

Well, Christie probably succeeded in turning a three man race into a two man race. Neither he, nor Kasich, nor Bush has a realistic chance of rallying enough support to challenge Trump or Cruz.

Which means I now get to choose between an left winger who is tough on immigration, or a conservative who can't win.

Oh joy.

I agree.

But the media is pushing hard on the idea that the Governors are coming on strong: Bush, Christie, Kasich. I think the media is still pushing Kasich as the best alternative to outsiders Trump and Cruz, but the media would settle for Christie or Bush.

The media still doesn't know whats going on.

Agree. Yes, Rubio got sucked in by Christie’s nastiness but he did a great job during the rest of the debate. Bet he doesn’t get bullied again by Christie. Christie was on this morning with Chris Wallace and, again, he was very belligerent.......did not seem Presidential. And, while he and Jeb say they’ll support the Republican candidate, how will they do so after giving Democrats ammunition to use against fellow Republicans? Why don’t they state their positions w/o bashing other R candidates?

Mario Rubco ended his political career the day he schemed with Schumer and the Gang against the citizens and the rule of law.

That's what did it for me too. Ever since he's been wiggling and squirming, trying to deny that he maed himself Schumer's butt boy, but only sinking farther into the muck. The problem is he's a manipulative liar, every bit as bad as Obola. Indeed, to win in 2010, he campaigned against amnesty, then he around and supported it. That ranks right up there along with, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor."

I think the Oops Rick Perry moment happened in NH and he ended up with 1 percent after all the support he had previously. Rubio may literally lose to Carly and Ben. That is how much NH takes debates seriously.

“A Conservative that can’t win”? What’s with the defeated attitude?

We never win by running a moderate. There’s only one person Hillary fears in a debate... Ted Cruz.

Can you imagine Hillary trying to keep her lies straight in a one on one debate with Ted?
