Excerpted KANAB â Most of the people who came to the funeral of LaVoy Finicum didn't know the Arizona rancher personally.
They came anyway, in trucks and campers and caravans, drawn either by kinship with the Finicum family or by sympathy for the cause that took him to rural Oregon.
The Arizona rancher was one of the most recognizable faces of the armed standoff in Oregon, where a group of protesters seized the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in early January to protest what they said was federal overreach into Western rangelands.
Finicum was shot dead by police on Jan. 26 in a confrontation that has inflamed the divide between supporters of the standoff and law enforcement officials.
Roughly 1,000 people packed into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building Friday for the funeral service, spilling over into the classrooms and hallways.
Cliven Bundy â a prominent Nevada rancher whose longstanding dispute with the Bureau of Land Management flared up into a standoff in 2014 â joined the Finicum Family.
The article continues, ""We don't want the media's bias," Tenney said at the news conference, flanked by Cliven Bundy and his son Arden. "We don't want the FBI's bias. We want truth."
She also bristled at reports that characterized her father as a militant or extremist.
"Our father ⦠has been called many names by the world," Tenney said, her voice rising in anger. "But I'll tell you what we call him. We call him Daddy."
After the service, six men carried out Finicum's body in a plain pine box and loaded it into a hearse. Dozens of riders on horseback followed."

Why I sure managed to get YOU all gnarly.
Whoops I guess it wasn’t I.
Anyhow, boost the man in the moon if there is reason to believe he will help this sad situation. Boost Jimmy Carter. I’m only mentioning what I know.
But don’t forget to boost Jesus Christ which ain’t the same thing as boosting anybody’s church congregation.
The definition if insanity, ‘tis said, is to travel down the same road expecting something different at its end.
It’s easy to be furious at a Horiuchi or the man who shot Finicum; but the faceless crowd that sets him up and enables him and furnishes the excuses scarcely gets anybody’s concern.
It’s a God sized problem, dealing with such issues. As the prophet complained, “Violence! But Thou dost not save.” To which the Lord replied there’s an answer coming so sharp and swift that you would not believe it. In the Old Testament this kind of answer was a ruthless invading people. In the New Testament, if I dare venture, it could mean literal demons. We might actually see the evil human authorities go mad and destroy their own selves, if that’s the pattern. They invited the powerful delusion; they get to follow it to death and hell. The role of those now stepping up to the political plate would then be to pick up the pieces.
I believe there is another motive to this attack on this Honorable Patriot. It is my thinking, that the government is wanting another Oklahoma City bombing. After Waco there was Ruby Ridge THEN came OKC in retaliation. The want a Retaliatory strike. Just like they planned for Fast & Furious. They didn’t get it then. They then pulled the media together for the lies out of Ferguson, Baltimore and elsewhere... They need an enemy to further their control tactics and attempt to further circumvent or abolish the Constitution.
It’s a bigger problem, ultimately.
People have forgotten God. Belief in God used to make it unthinkable to address situations like this in this manner and to be fair I mean from both sides. Finicum didn’t help the situation when he vowed never to be taken alive. If your manner screams desperado, it makes it easier for other desperados to excuse what they did to you, so to speak. It becomes a contest of who serves the devil best.
The politics, the grotty details, are all a secondary thing.
Excerpted here, ‘We want the truth’
Tenney said many questions remain unanswered about her father’s death.
“We don’t want the media’s bias. We don’t want the FBI’s bias. We want the truth,” she said to the roar of bystanders and anti-government supporters on horseback.
She said her “daddy” believed he was following the law. “It was the federal government that was violating it. We agree with him. We also agree with Thomas Jefferson who once said, ‘When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.’”
Her sister, Tierra Belle Collier, said, “Do we believe that peaceful actions justify the use of deadly force? Do we believe that two hands up in surrender justifies the use of deadly force? Do we believe that following the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution justifies the use of deadly force? If we do then where is liberty?”
While hundreds of mourners arrived Friday for the memorial service, daughter Brittney Beck, 26, said her dad “died for liberty.”
“My dad was an amazing man. He died for liberty. He died for everybody’s freedoms,” said Brittney Beck, 26. “I think it’s really great that people are here to honor him and thank him for that.”
Finicum’s widow, Jeanette, spoke at the memorial service about how he “guarded our time together as a family. ... I know I will be with him again because families are forever.”
Her husband will be buried Saturday at the family’s ranch on the Arizona Strip.
Whatever comes of this cause, I’d urge not to copy a desperado manner... that’s probably the last thing on earth we need. Mormon folks say they believe in God... well how about acting like God is competent, that He means something larger than us, that you don’t have to vow to die rather than be captured in order to make a huge impact to the good (Jesus didn’t have to, hint hint hint).
I agree. Peaceful protest and raising awareness, requesting accountability and a full investigation is the right thing to do, in my opinion.
And attempting to support a political order in the future (WITH prayer... “I urge that prayers be made for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness”) that is fairer. Frictions between an imperious government that is not honestly serving the people, and an impatient populace, will stir up needless strife and result in heartaches like this present one.
I got hissed at for mentioning a particular candidate or candidates. Well go pick whoever you think would do the best job of reining in the imperiousness, but don’t forget the prayer whoever that is.
Agenda 21 is in full swing out on the west coast.
And that is ultimately what he died fighting.
:^)
Agreed

By examining the video more closely, I see at 00:33:47 LEOs pointing at the truck with raised rifles and a dark area in the center of the back window looking like it’s been penetrated by bullets. And it shows same dark area there until truck coming to a full stop. However, the image not crystal clear but somehow confirm the young lady’s testimonial !!!
