We Join Ken Cuccinelli In Asking Rand Paul Supporters To Vote For Ted Cruz

Principled limited government constitutional conservative Ken Cuccinelli has issued an appeal to Rand Paul supporters to vote for Ted Cruz now that Senator Paul is out of the race for president, and it is an appeal that we wholeheartedly endorse and invite our liberty-minded friends to accept.

As Cuccinelli noted in a letter to Senator Paul’s supporters, “Rand has been the most passionate defender of civil liberties and personal privacy – not just in the U.S. Senate, but anywhere in government today.”

Ted Cruz and Rand PaulWe agree.

Cuccinelli went on to respectfully suggest that when it comes to protecting civil liberties and the privacy of law abiding citizens, Ted Cruz is – by far – the strongest remaining candidate among any of the GOP contenders for President.

In fact, said Cuccinelli, “as best I can tell, most of the other remaining candidates consider protecting civil liberties a vice rather than a virtue! Rand exposed several of them in the debates (Christie and Rubio) and, without your support, one of them may very well win the GOP nomination for President. “

Ken went on to point out that Ted Cruz has never sacrificed his commitment to protecting our entire Constitution – including the Fourth Amendment.

From our perspective, one of the key reasons liberty-minded voters should look to Ted Cruz as their candidate, now that Rand Paul is out of the race, was Cruz’s first major foray into “standing for what’s right” in the U.S. Senate.

Less than two months after Ted Cruz was sworn-in, he came to the Senate floor to defend the Constitution and support Senator Rand Paul, and take on the conventional wisdom of the Senate’s Republican greybeards.

The issue was Senator Paul’s filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan to head the Central Intelligence Agency

Trump didn’t get to be a billionaire by dissing his people. With the Wollman Rink, he brought in the best from Canada to do it right. He would do the same with our broken down government, get the best who don’t have a vested interest in doing it for other reasons.

Rand Paul hates Cruz. He spent much of his debate time fighting with Cruz.

This wasn't about getting Rand to vote for Cruz - it is about getting libertarians to vote for Cruz. I am sure the Cruz campaign has been contacting all of the Paul supporters in NH already. They have a strong ground game. I don't expect Cruz to win NH, but I do expect him to outperform the polls again. And I expect Trump to underperform again, since he does not even seem to understand the term "ground game" by his own admission.

No thanks out of respect for Rand. He can't stand Cruz.

He seems to dislike Trump and Rubio just as much. So who does that leave for you to support - Bush? Christie? Kasich?

I was joking about standing with Rand. Personally I think Rubio has the best chance.

Good for Trump a wealthy businessman a contractor and developer that built an absolutely, stupendous, greatest, most terrific, best ever skating rink. That doesn’t negate my post. “a narcissist can be highly intelligent but still surround himself with those who pump him up or those he can put down.” I want Donald building skating rinks, hotels, golf courses, office buildings. I don’t want him appointing Supreme Court or any other judges, The Cabinet, Ambassadors, heads of any of the alphabet agencies, etc.

Oh so some political hack like Rubio would be better appointing Supremes? Or maybe a governor who’s also lacking any kind of Federal experience.

You don’t get to say what people can do. I’ll take a successful businessman any day over these career politicians whose only goal is to either stay in office or move up. What have they done for us? Put us in a hole we might never crawl out of that’s what.

Too bad you don’t have respect for capitalism and its successes. That’s what this country was built on not a bunch of political con artists.

No I don’t want Rubio, Carson, Bush, Kasich, Christie, or Fiorina making these appointments, I want Ted Cruz. But I would take any of these over Trump. Because I don’t want Trump you say I don’t like Capitalism. I have absolutely no problem with business people in government. Your missing my point, I don’t want a person with a mental issue making these appointments whether they are a businessman, lawyer, doctor, politician or anything else.

He does not have a mental issue. So sick of you people throwing wild accusations out there to justify your pick.

If it’s Cruz you like, find something good to say about Cruz. Quit obsessing over trashing Trump.

I believe he’s a narcissist more severe than obama. Exhibited by an excessive use of superlatives, lack of empathy where he mocks the afflicted and denigrating with childish name calling and accusations those who disagree with or challenge him. And then there’s the rage he exhibits when things don’t his way. We certainly don’t need someone like that making the appointments, taking those 3 am phone calls or having his finger within miles of the “button”. I’ve said plenty of good things about Senator Cruz but every time I did I would immediately get childish crap from the Trumpeteers. I can’t believe you would call anyone else obsessed. Look in the mirror, that’s what obsessed looks like.
