Because they didn’t do anything wrong.

What serious candidate for POTUS on the eve of two primaries goes home and skips planned meeting in those two states?

That simply screams the candidate is giving up.

The Cruz camp didn’t do anything ethically or morally wrong.

The Carson camp screwed up and sent out a message that would only be taken one way.

Is this everybody’s first following of a presidential primary race? This is politics. Remember the Bush Vs. Reagan Primary? This isn’t a game of chess or shuffleboard. It’s politics”

Id agree with you if this wasn’t cruz who has been telling us for years that he is not a typical politician.

Isn’t he suppose to be this god fearing angel who would never do this kind of stuff?

The rumor did not originate with Ben Carson. His staffers answered a question as to what he would be doing following the caucuses, as in going to straight to NH or what, esp with the expected blizzrd...

The reply was no, he’s going to Florida - btw the change of clothes was a joke - He was going to Florida, then to DC Prayer Breakfast where he was speaking. He will be at the debate on Saturday and nothing was ever said about him dropping out of the race.

Cruz ran with an unsourced story, 20 minutes before the caucuses started. Candy Carson was at a caucus event and had to shoot down the story herself.

Oh, come on! You guys badmouthed the owner of this site and cried like babies due to your exile into the desert. I only wish it had been for 40 days and 40 nights.

I’ve aimed criticism at all three today.

Cruz and Rubio for what they did, and Donald for crying about it.

Yeh I just heard him on Hannity. He still will only come in likely 5th in NH. Rubio is the one to worry about.

"Team Cruz tweeted that Carson was dropping out of the campaign, not going to FL for R&R."

Specifically his Iowa Campaign Chairman and National Vice Chairman, Steve King.

There was no reason to say that Carson was dropping out unless Carson released a statement that he was dropping out.

Even the CNN anchors were commenting at the time that leaving the campaign trail for several days right after Iowa (which is what was originally reported) did not indicate a candidate who was serious about running. And it is a time-honored practice of the media and other candidates to try to "read the tea leaves" and get a jump on a major announcement. In this case, since the voting was starting, the Cruz campaign wanted to persuade potential Carson voters to vote for them if Carson was dropping out.

RE: You missed the part where Steve King tweeted out to all the Cruz staffers that Carson was dropping out of the race and Iowans should not waste their vote.

Then the fault is Steve King’s and not Cruz’s.

The Cruz Team staffers picked it up, but I’d like to see their re-tweet of it.

If Cruz is serious about clean campaigning, he should fire the staffer(s) who indulged in dirty tricks. Doesn’t matter if Mr. Carson accepted his apology, someone should still get fired. What would it cost him, to take the high road and look like a gentleman?

Maybe I am naive. But the media seems to be making this bigger than it might actually be. I'll give most any of the candidates the benefit of the doubt over an issue like this once or twice. There are a lot of passionate people working for these folks. If it were a Tweet from Ted himself, I might feel different. But I don't yet believe it was a calculated effort to intentionally get votes from the Carson Camp. How would they know Carson supporters wouldn't switch to Trump?

Rubio is the GOPe’s candidate. They will coalexce behind him. I expect Jeb to drop out before FL, a winner take all state.

It tells you who the MSM and the Rockefeller Republicans abhor the most. I sent Ben a few hundred myself but if he thinks this is a big deal he is in the wrong business. The Clinton gang would turn him into mincemeat.

Neither Carson nor CNN said Carson was dropping out and you know it. Someone in the Cruz campaign put their spin on it. The lying, about it not originating somewhere in Cruz campaign isn’t supported by Cruz himself as he apologized for it!

Cruz approved of it? Looks so. He’s not a leader who takes charge.
