Earlier today Ted Cruz sent out a blitz of fundraising emails on the heels of his Iowa victory. Here's an example (screen grabbed), and pay attention to the two bullet points Cruz puts at the bottom of email:
I am sorry, I can’t fix stupidity.
Your research looks totally bogus. The legal limit for contributions to candidates is way lower than what you state, like $5,000 per person. So those Club for Growth donations and such cannot be accurate. They would have to be going to a SuperPAC, not Cruz.
We can tell. All that money you spent on self-help books - down the drain.
LOL, Trump sticking up for the “pathological” Carson? That’s a laugh.
LOLOL That’s a bit much- even for Saint Teddy.
I would bet money that he did that on purpose. And claimed it was Providence, of course.
If Cruz isn’t a naturally born citizen, at what point in his life did he become a citizen?
You are up genius.
Your table is deceptive. Corporations cannot not give political contributions. (Obvious exceptions are the conservative PACs.) Individuals who are employed by corporations can. Those contributions were from individuals.
Nope. Look again. You’ll note that most of the money contributed WAS by individuals. That’s a common way for organisations to get around campaign finance laws - give some employees “bonuses” which end up being donated to candidates the organisation supports.
Either Cruz is part of the establishment or he is temporarily being used by them so they can kill off Trump. In either case its not good because Cruz is wholeheartedly accepting their help!
If they can unseat Trump from the race, the knives will come out and be plunged repeatedly into Cruz’s back so they can usher in Jeb or Rubio as they planned from the beginning.
With Trump out of the race, Florida would go to Rubio or Jeb. Cruz will be choked out of the nomination when the other states where primary delegate distributions were altered by the GOP kick in. The delegate changes were designed to kill off tea party style candidates.
So you see, there is more to this than picking a perfectly conservative candidate. That will not do us any good if they can’t win the damn nomination. There are trillions of dollars at stake. You all need to pay attention to the rule book and the crap the GOP will continue to pull.
YOU’RE LYING! The campaign donation legal limit is $5,000. So if Club for Growth gave Cruz $700,000, they’d be in jail right now.
Not true.
NY Daily News, I think, had an article quoting Trump as saying Ted’s Canadian birth could be a problem on March 23, 2015.
Trump wasn’t even running yet.
Hate to tell you this, but the general run of English common law and the early interpretations prior to the Civil War firmly landed on the jus soli side of things - you were a NBC if you were born on US soil, either a state or a territory.
concerning Chad Sweet —
The United States allows in over one million legal immigrants per year. Our manufacturing base has been moved out, and 94 million Americans do not have jobs.
Every time a legal immigrant enters the United States, he takes tax money or someone’s job.
Notice the stand of Ted Cruz on legal immigration:
from Washington Examiner, Bryon York, 12/16/15 (Byron York - Rubio battle makes GOP immigration muddle worse, not better):
“I’m here tonight, and I want to make this super clear to everybody, so put me on the record on this: Sen. Cruz unequivocally, unequivocally, does not support legalization,” national campaign chairman Chad Sweet told the Washington Examiner’s David Drucker after the debate. When Drucker asked what Cruz would do with the 11 or 12 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally, Sweet answered, “His plan is attrition through enforcement. He’s following the rule of law...If we enforce the law, ultimately there will be attrition through enforcement. And in the end, though, what the senator is trying to do, as well, is save and expand our legal immigration system.”
It’s really good all this stuff is coming out about Cruz now, what to speak of his very dubious citizenship status. For sure not NBC, and is he even a US citizen at all.
Trump had his lawyers look at this and said Ted was fine, no,problem.
The problem arrived when Trumps polls went south.
I don’t think the Constitution changes because of Trump’s polls.
Pathetic. That’s data from his Senate campaign. Also, do you see where it breaks down “individuals” versus “PACs?” That means that those moneys came from individuals, not PACs. DUH.
Now, Cruz’s language is a little misleading here. He’s using “special-interest” as a modifier of “billionaire.” Plainly, he is getting support from billionaires... a handful of identified big-money supporters. He’s asserting that they’re not special interests. But I could totally see someone meaning he’s not getting money from billionaires...
but put it back into context. He’s telling his people he’s just gotten huge donations!
ROFL Is that real or is it photoshop? Seriously. If that’s from a video, THAT I will watch. HO-LY CANNOLI. LOLOLOL
