...What has not been said much throughout the day is that Florida Senator Marco Rubioâs campaign worked actively to spread the message that Carson was leaving the presidential race. These actions were reported on Twitter by Conrad Close who, according to his Twitter profile, is the managing editor of Outset Magazine.

Exactly.
But was the CNN report false?
You might as well take the next step as to whether Carson was set up by one of his own advisors by arranging the retreat and reporting it out just in time for the caucuses.
It’s only happening because Trump the egomaniac can’t stomach of idea of having been beaten and is going after Cruz when he should be going after Rubio.
Trump’s best chance to win is to continue to keep the establishment lane split and no one emerges. But his ego is making him want to go after Cruz first and allowing Rubio the chance to consolidate.
His people picked up the report and sent it to their caucus leaders. They should have verified it, but it was, after all, from a “reputable” media source.
Unfortunately, when the correction came, they were busy with caucus-night activities and forgot to send that out. Again, they should have.
People make mistakes. This was a mistake by the Cruz campaign, but not a “dirty trick” as the liberal media and the Trumpkins (in cahoots) would have you believe.
No, on Rubio’s part, it may have been different. But Marco will have to address that — if the media ever bothers to press him on it.
“The person who is most responsible is named Ben Carson. Heâs basically an amateur who is out of his league. Leaving the campaign trail for âfresh clothesâ indicates he is not the least bit serious about the country.”

Has the good Dr. Carson ever heard of dry cleaning? So, he has to fly from Iowa to Florida to get clean underwear....does not pass the smell test, literally!
“I hope Trump wins big in NH and buries the cheaters.”
He better. Because if he loses NH, his primary season is over.
“But was the CNN report false?”
Factually, no.
But CNN intentionally left the impression that Carson was dropping out.
In their defense, it is odd to fly a private jet to another state to get a change of clothes.
Me, I’d save the $25,000 each way and find a 24 hour dry cleaners and a Wal-Mart for the underwear.
“I wonder if the false report by CNN was a set up by CNN to hurt Cruz and Rubio.”
You mean the same CNN that just got finished covering Trump before its announcement? No way.
Firing squad at dawn!
I don’t think either Rubio or Cruz is “guilty” on this. CNN was reporting that Carson was going home to Florida rather than going on to NH or SC. It’s not that far-fetched to infer from that that it sounds like Carson is quitting. So I think it’s plausible that some Rubio and Cruz people took it that way and went with it. In any case, I don’t think it made much difference in the outcome.
Teh entire point of the caucuses is to persuade the attendees to vote for your candidate. While there was some misinformation going around, to say thaty should hve just "let the Carson voters alone" shows a misunderstanding of the caucus system.
You want to switch as many of the other candidates' people as you can.
Because no matter what Trump, the GOPe and media try to tell you, Cruz IS A GOOD MAN and is sorry that they didn't catch that CNN's story was bogus.
By example..... Rubo did the same thing to Carson as Cruz is being crucified for. Has he apologized?????
Rush is reading this story now...
They're liberals, after all.
“Interestingâ¦.”
What’s Interesting is that Cruz supporters are desperate to blame anyone besides the one who has accepted responsibility.
They did NOT report what CNN reported they twisted it to fit a positive narrative for them. CNN did not say he was out. Read the CNN tweet.
The original report came from the Carson campaign.
They said he was going back to Florida and not going to be in NH or SC, but rather the prayer breakfast.
The implications of that (admittedly odd) move is where people jumped to conclusions.
I understand a lot of Carson’s campaign people have quit just recently. Perhaps one of the departed staffers knew of the plan to take a couple of days off and tipped CNN?
I’m not saying that is definitely what happened, but it’s possible. And it would explain a lot.
