Donald Trump just accused Ted Cruz of stealing the Iowa caucuses over the Cruz campaign's admission that it helped spread a rumor that Ben Carson was dropping out of the race:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!

Update 2. Oh boy:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified. 9:28 AM - 3 Feb 2016

Did the Cruz and team put out that official memo to Cruz caucus goers to work on Carson supporters to get their support after the lie? The answer to that is a big YES.
Cruz is going to be taken to task raked over the coals in the next debate over this. He gets to reap what he sows and it's not going to be good for him.
I guess I need to be more clear.
It’s your opinion (and others that need to find good news where none exists) that data is relevant.
Yep Cruz won Iowa.
But what did he win? One more delegate than Trump, big deal!
He also won the distinction of being a sleazy liar. Lots of us already knew this now more know.
Cruz won’t win nomination, Trump will and the only other possibility is Rubio through dirty GOPee tactics.
Both Rubio and Cruz would lose to Sanders, which brings us back to Trump, the only one who can beat Sanders.
A third of voters won’t vote, a third will vote Bernie, a third will vote Trump that is how close it will be. Rubio or Cruz would get only about a quarter of voters who vote, votes. Rubio slightly more than Cruz.
Personally I will stick with Trump , the only one who won’t give amnesty and won’t bow to political correctness and the media.
Your candidate is a thrice married, serial adulterer who writes with glee about his conquests of women married to others.
You are right and the only reason I am voting Trump is because I firmly believe he will get things done (the right things) and will make our country the strongest of the world even if only reputation. As far as Cruz, the reason I am not supporting him is because I just think he is phony. He is a slick talker but it doesn’t add up. Plus the religion thing is his thing....we didn’t ask him to be the most religious on the panel, he made it that way. So when he does despicable things especially to a fellow Christian, it is bad optics. I don’t know why you can’t see that he will take legality to the line to the point of if he went a centimeter more, it would be illegal.
>>I would think that most real Christians would not like themselves being portrayed in this manner.
I would hope that most people wouldn’t like to be portrayed in that manner. But, I know that all men fall short of perfection. The man has staff and they are all sinners too. Many of them might believe that OSAS means that you can do anything you want after you say your little prayer and get dunked in the water too. You can, of course, since all sins are forgiven and forgotten, but there are still earthly consequences for one’s actions.
The loss of reputation is the first consequence. The “most honest” politician is still a politician, especially a man who has sent his entire life in the political sphere.
When Cruz apologized, he did so on behalf of his campaign, some workers of whom jumped on a news report that strongly inferred Carson was quitting.
I get the fact Trump and his supporters are upset at losing Iowa... but to demand a revote and threatening to sue is childish. It belies a complete unreadiness of the office.
I don’t know, I wasn’t there so I can’t say, but I was really hoping that we didn’t have to go by Hillary rules and play the dirty politics with our group this time...
I don’t know who is going to win what, but at least I thought we could show a better election than this just once...
"Stupid, fat Canadian hobbittses stole it from us. They took our Preciousss, and we wants it back. We hates them!! We hates them for ever!!!"
He does.
Go see the video that nclaurel posted at #350. More information than I knew about Dan Gabriel before. It’s good.
It’s under 10 minutes & moves quick.
And right there is the exculpatory evidence.
Nice try, Trump. You want make yet a bigger ass out of yourself by suing? Go for it... right as the primaries get underway... the timing couldn’t be better.
You think that an intern released a series of Tweets alleging that Ted Cruz stole the Iowa Caucuses and calling for a "new election"--Tweets that would be, and have been, picked up by every major political news outlet--without Trump's approval?
Just how naive are you?
Cruz needs to finish out his first term as senator. He’s overly ambitious probably caused by daddy telling him throughout his life he is a special snow flake, and he is not too honest. He’s not going anywhere.
And what did that devious and dastardly memo say???
"Breaking News. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week.
Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz."
So what is false in that memo? Didn't the press report that Carson was taking time off the campaign trail after Iowa?
Sounds more to me, with this noise about going to Florida, Carson was on the verge of actually quitting... then he saw the numbers roll in with him nearing double digits.
Donald Trump practically accused Ben Carson of being a child molester.
Do you see how you had to add the word practically in that sentence to not make it a lie? So in other words, he did not accuse him of being a child molester. Next
And now Trump is saying that Carson’s votes would have naturally gone to ... Trump?
Where did Trump say that? But it does stand to reason that Cruz would have fewer votes, and by that possibility not actually won.
And yes, I am shocked!
If Ross Perot had won the GOP nomination in 1992, he would have won the election. The 6 or 7 years that followed that election grew the economy more than any 6 or 7 year period in history. If Ross would have been President with a republican congress, how much larger would the economy had grown? Would the National Debt still exist? Instead, most of us shunned him for a proven moderate that couldn’t deliver a pizza, much less a campaign promise or a victory. I screwed up in 92 by supporting a man of GOP politics instead of a man of business.
Breaking news at the time during the Iowa caucus the Cruz team lied and twisted CNN’s report, and used the lie to convince Carson supporters to vote for Cruz. Deal with it.
Boiled down:
Cruz claims to have the moral high ground.
Trump claims to have the best skill set to turn things around.
What happened in Iowa:
Cruz won but threw away the moral high ground in order to do so.
Trump lost, but might not have if he had a better political skill set.
So what happens next?
Cruz won the battle but lost the war.
Trump lost the battle, but unless he learned from his loss will also lose the war.
If both Cruz and Trump have lost the war, who do we get behind?
Honestly, I think until TRUMP, no one bothered to clean up campaign politics. Not sure anyone ever did anything but meekly point to the dirty tricks.
Until TRUMP, no contender for the Republican nomination ever dared speak truth to power, calling the donor bought Congress stupid and corrupt.
REMEMBER MISSISSIPPI!
TRUMP, I think, has nothing to lose by engaging his ability to walk and chew gum at the same time. To campaign, and object to Cruz’ corrupt methods against Carson in the caucuses, one in which Mrs. Carson was present to witness.
He is running against what this country tolerates anymore.
If we want to critique and mock someone for exposing it, discussing it bluntly and attempting to bring accountability for it, then who the hell are we anymore?
If we don’t actually care about accountability, why pretend we are voting on our fine, high principles.
The stupidity, corruption, and cronyism and the money buys elections, it buys dirty tricksters, it buys politicians running for office.
TRUMP asked last night, “Who are these guys??”.
If he had not brought this up, the media would ignore Cruz’ snatching caucus votes on a lie. The media cares more about the horse race, not the corruption someone gets by with.
A lot of people care about that crap going unaddressed, no one held accountable.
(You got me thinking, but this is not directed at you, my little cupcake.) %:D Rita
