Trump lends campaign nearly $11 million
The Washington Examiner ^ | February 1, 2016 | Al Weaver

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump raised $13.6 million in the fourth fundraising quarter, according to the campaign's filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Trump, who often boasts about that he is self-funding his campaign, loaned his campaign $10.8 million, leaving his operation with nearly $7 million in cash-on-hand.

The campaign reported that it spent nearly $7 million during the fourth quarter alone. It raised $2.6 million beyond Trump's loan. Most came from small dollar donations.

The campaign owes $12.6 million to Trump himself.

The filing shows that the Trump campaign spent nearly $500,000 on hats, primarily on the red caps featuring the popular slogan "Make America Great Again."

The real estate mogul's filing comes less than 24 hours before the Iowa caucuses, where Trump holds a slight lead in polls over Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

>>somehow is better than someone who has fought tirelessly for our beliefs and principles?

That is such a tired cliche. No politician ever fights tirelessly for our beliefs and principles and then votes for TPA.

Like any politician, he fights for HIS advancement and calls it altruism and you believe it. Remember that their electoral success depends you giving them money to say the things you want to hear. So, they say it. If he says anything counter to your orthodoxy, you get mad.

At least a businessman admits that he fights for profits, success, victory and will admit it. He’ll also tell you that this was a bad deal so he walked away or that this was a good deal, even though you may not like it right now.

To be honest, the simplistic way of looking at the world that the Cruzies have has really turned me off from their candidate. If he is anything like them, then he has no business even being in Congress.

And one promises the moon from our viewpoint, then turns around and supports universal healthcare?

Cruz was very clear about finding out what was IN TPA, and reversed his opinion on it.

On the surface, are we not FOR Free Trade anymore? Open market capitalism?

This is why there is no monolithic (i.e. “consistent”) conservatism anymore. The streams are getting crossed. Free trade is great, if you don’t want poorly educated Americans to work, so you need to give them welfare or they die. We want the poor to have their unwanted children, but don’t care if they live or die after they become self-aware. Are we not FOR life anymore?

The UniParty has jumbled it all up and that is intentional. As I said, there is no monolithic conservatism anymore.

I damn well know what I’m for, liberty, freedom, and enforcing that with the Constitution.

My streams are not crossed, Ted Cruz’s are not.

It amazes me the solution you see to solving the problem of the UniParty is to fall on your knees in tantamount worship of a narcissist whom is so obviously a puppet for the UniParty.

From a historical standpoint, you cannot argue with that statement. All you can do is ignore his past, and hope his new found rhetoric has some meaning or purpose behind it which will “make America great again”.

Sorry, I want someone with a solid history of working towards the shining city on a hill, restoring our government to the authority of the Constitution, not someone who promises to make it happen on his own accord, by any means necessary.

Your statements read like a stump speech with little or no actual discernment.

If you were actually for freedom, you wouldn’t write crap like this:

“to fall on your knees in tantamount worship of a narcissist “

I’m not worshiping anyone. He’s just the best choice to lead America at this particular point in time. At least I can articulate my reasons and explain the complexity of life in the 21st century. All you can do is spout cliches that portray Cruz as a messiah and you think that he is coming to lead Mayberry. His inability to lead in the Senate will not suddenly change when he gets to the WH. Your orthodoxy belittles the actual practice of freedom.
