Bernie Sanders is a democratic socialist. He believes that our current economic system isn't doing enough for poor and middle-class Americans and that democratic change is needed to create a more fair and just America.
But this isn't radical or scary! Many of the programs instituted by Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson that we take for granted today — such as Medicare, the 40-hour work week, the minimum wage, and Social Security — can be considered socialist programs.

I’ve got a friend whose daughter is attending Gonzaga as an undergraduate and they’re paying 48k a year.
The Sanders supporters want to be sent enough free stuff so that they don’t have to work. That’s it. There’s no “moral case” to be made. They’re selfish and lazy.
Bernie did not run for his first office as a “democratic socialist.” He ran as a good ole Soviet style socialist. No two ways about.
Was he lying then, or is he lying now? My guess is that his views have not changed over the years.
I worked 2 part time jobs to pay my own way through a mid-level state college to earn a BA, living in slum housing and spending 6 years getting it done. I was in better economic shape when I paid for my MBA, but that’s another story. Am I to understand that if college debts are to be forgiven, I’ll receive an inflation-adjusted check for my expenses?
I’ll watch the mail.
