I remember my 11th grade history teacher, explain this very same concept to us young skulls full of mush. The DEMOCRATIC peoples' Republic of China, the German DEMOCRATIC Republic, sounds nice to useful idiots fresh out of high school, doesn't it? Speaking of East Germany, one summer I worked at a parts store where one of our regular customers was the go-to guy when it came to German cars. We nicknamed him Sputnik because years earlier he, his wife and then newborn son escaped from E Berlin with only the clothes on their backs and whatever money they had. One effective way to reduce lib/prog types into the blithering ignoramuses they are is to simply ask if socialism is such a wonderful utopia of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everywhere then why on G-D green Earth as that damn wall built in the first place?
