Obama just lost another one of his top advisers.
His legislative affairs director has stepped down, creating challenges to passing the president's agenda in his final year in the White House, according to The Hill.
Chief of Obama's legislative affairs operation, Katie Beirne Fallon is leaving after two years on the job. Fallon, a former aide to Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), was instrumental in helping Obama score victories in trade, budget and Iran nuclear deal agreements last year.
Obama called Fallon a "close adviser" and a "good friend," in a statement on Friday.
"Republicans and Democrats in Congress have their differences - but when it comes to Katie, they're united in their admiration and respect," he said.
Fallon, who gave birth to twins last year, is married to Brian Fallon, a top spokesman for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. (Would you love to be a fly on the wall in that house?).
Her departure could be a setback to Obama's efforts to push his agenda items through Congress this year. Fallon's exit follows other top Obama officials who have resigned in recent months, including Education Secretary Arne Duncan and IS, Russia, and cyber security advisers, the Hill reported.
Taking over for Fallon will be White House current deputy director of legislative affairs, Amy Rosenbaum, a former aide to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)
A) It's the not President's role to push his agenda through Congress, it's to faithfully execute the laws Congress passes.
B) HA! Paul Ryan and Miotch McConnell see their roles as pushing his agenda through Congress.
It was a foolproof formula (snix). US policy was conducted in the same manner Obama ran Obamacare, immigration law, the deficit, the war on terror, and so on.
