The first thought that comes to mind is that Trump keeps coming back to this attack against Cruz for a couple of reasons. The first is that he cannot make attacks on Cruz's record of standing up for conservative principles the centerpiece of his strategy because that leaves him open to greater scrutiny of his own liberal record...

According to Cruz in pre-presidential aspiration time...
natural born citizen = born on the soil with 2 citizen parents.
Very simple. Trump’s mother became a citizen.
Cruz fooled people over this - which is what he specialized in while at college.
That is not fair posting the full comment!:)
According to the common law and Canadian law, Cruz is a NBC of Canada:
It is not settled. He still can’t be potus!
True or bullshyte, called Ted Cruz a Canadian anchor baby is a hilarious line. Donald Trump’s brand of bs, bravado, mischievousness and humor.
“...he was from Cuba. So if Cruz is magically American based on his motherâs citizenship is he a magical Cuban citizen too?”
I have thought about that. Did he ever renounce his Cuban citizenship?

Well he fled to Canada!
That’s true, and I’m surprised nobody else has mentioned that. Except that most of the other candidates actually appear to want to be judged on their ideas and not their insults.
“And this is crux: Trump cannot run on his record.”
What record? Trump has never voted as an elected official.
Rafael Cruz was born in Cuba prior to the Castro take-over. Was he a Cuban citizen and then not a citizen?
There is no published record of Rafael Cruz attaining Canadian citizenship prior to the birth of Ted Cruz. Did Ted Cruz inherit Cuban citizenship via his father, American citizenship via his mother, and Canadian citizenship via the land?
Did Ted Cruz have triple citizenship?

“Why wonât Trump release his birth certificate, motherâs naturalization papers, and school records.”
I caught you lying, Nick. In case you haven’t goten off your ass and googled it, I told you yesterday that Trump has released his birth certificate, if it really matters, because he has a paper trail from birth and there is no controversy.
Why don’t you demand Cruz release his records?
Just posted it :o)
Tell that to Elio gonzalez!
Donald Trump Birth Certificate - ABC News
Cruz vs. Trump: Constitutionally who's a natural born Citizen? - Niagara Falls Reporter (Showing what purports to be a receipt in National Archives of Mary Anne Trump's naturalization, dated March 10, 1942, by the U.S. District Court at Brooklyn, NY, four years before she gave birth to her son, Donald Trump.)
Old news.
Anchor babies are folks like Rubio and Jindal. Cruz is actually born in Canada to a Cuban resident of Canada at the time of his conception, and to a US mother.
In George Washington’s day he would not have been considered a natural born citizen. In ours, the kids of terrorist Anwar al Awlaki are considered eligible for the presidency.
Natural born is a requirement in the Constitution that is defined in the Naturalization Act of 1790. It defines it as birth from citizen parents. Cruz’s father was not a citizen.
Cuban law is about the same as US. Birth abroad to a citizen parent results in Cuban citizenship.
