Why I’m Endorsing Ted Cruz For President
Townhall ^ | January 30, 2016 | John Hawkins

Posted on 01/30/2016 8:42:38 AM PST by GodGunsGuts

Conservatives have been hoping that “another Reagan” will come along for decades and we finally have one: Ted Cruz.

Like Reagan, Ted Cruz is not popular with the establishment wing of the Republican Party. In fact, you’ll often hear it said that...

He’s done well.

He may not win this time but he’s a young guy by US political standards. And there’s no learning process like actually running a campaign.

Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen, so he is not eligible to be POTUS.

I don’t understand your post at all.
I thought it WAS a requirement?
Perhaps you left a word out?

In any event hopefully by the next 4 years he can get a definitive ruling on that.

Unbelievable – Ted Cruz Campaign Sends Out Personal “Shaming Letters” To Iowa Voters…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | January 30, 2016 | Sundance
Posted on 1/30/2016, 8:47:23 AM by COUNTrecount

It has now been confirmed - The photograph of Ted Cruz campaign shaming letters is legit (see below). The letters are officially from the Ted Cruz campaign.

Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been “very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who haven’t voted before to vote.” (link) The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.

The text reads: “You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors’ are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday’s caucuses”. In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record. How the Cruz Team would think a public shaming campaign is a good idea is just staggeringly unbelievable.

The campaign scheme was exposed via Twitter where “Tom Hinkeldy, a resident of Alta, Iowa, tweeted a photo (which was later deleted because it included his personal address) on Friday evening of a mailer Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign sent addressed to his wife, Steffany” -link-

Word spread rapidly.

You've got to be kidding me.

Well, (Putinista) McGruff, it sure as hell ain't your guy.

Because there's a big difference between...

"Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

and...

"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond"

Cruz 'gets it' on the complex situation in Syria, regarding Russia's broader (expansionist) agenda there, and elsewhere. Trump either doesn't or is in cahoots with Putin on it.

______________________________________

Ted Cruz on ISIS, Russia, Obama, missile defense, and the New START Treaty with Russia...

"If we want to actually dismantle ISIS, we need to dramatically change course. We need a real, robust campaign that maximizes our overwhelming air advantage.

We need to focus our efforts not on trying to create friends, but on supporting our real ones, especially the Kurds in Iraq and Syria who have actually had success against ISIS."

-snip-

"We can redouble our efforts to develop the defensive weapons that neutralized the offensive Soviet threat -- particularly missile defense, which has seen a 25% budget reduction under Obama, according to an analysis from the conservative Heritage Foundation, and has been constrained by bad arms deals like New START.

We should not only move quickly to install the canceled interceptor sites Putin opposed in Poland and the Czech Republic, but also to develop the next generation of systems that will only increase his discomfiture.

These options do not entail a ground war in Syria, yet would effectively shake us free from the failed policies that have brought us to our current impasse.

These options set us on a new path that puts Putin on notice that the United States is reclaiming our traditional role as leader of the free world."

http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/09/opinions/cruz-syria-putin/index.html

**********************************************************

"I think it would be a mistake to get involved in the Syrian civil war. There have been voices in Washington eager for us to send our sons and daughters over to fight that civil war for some time. I haven't been one of them. I think the touchstone of U.S. military policy should be protecting the national security of this country."

"What we're seeing Putin in Russia do is a direct response to the profound weakness of Obama over six and a half years.

Putin views Obama as weak, as ineffective, and frankly, as a laughingstock. And, as a result, he is moving in, he is invading his neighbors, like Ukraine, he's kidnapping Estonians, and he's moving into Syria to gain a stronger foothold in the Middle East."

https://www.tedcruz.org/news/icymi-cruz-we-have-no-business-getting-in-the-middle-of-the-syrian-civil-war-goal-should-be-to-defeat-isis/

**********************************************************

Ted Cruz:
"We need a coherent plan to address both the specific crisis in Syria and the challenge posed more broadly by Putin's resurgent Russia.

The good news is that America still has options, if our leaders can summon the will to exercise them.

For starters, in Syria we can't double down on the failed strategies that have given Putin his opportunity to intervene.

We are now two years out from President Obama's proposed intervention after al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. ..."

Ted Cruz is brilliant and solid, but he is a terrible speaker. He should hire a Hollywood speech coach and dump the writer that gives him jokes he can't deliver.

When he speaks straight to the point as if he is in court, he is great to listen to. But, when he tries to be dramatic it's painful to watch (I think).

There is no other sane choice if you are wise enough to realize your goal should be to save the country from capital “T” tyranny. Trump will allow Obama to consolidate his gains, wont rescind his executive orders, wont unwind the socialism that Obama has built into our bureaucracy, nor will he fire all the communists Obama has brought into our government, not to mention all his people he placed in high posigions in our military.

Pure political idolatry. We found another Reagan and made him into Jesus. He will do everything he says. The world is safe again....

(Chuckle) sorry about that...it’s been a long night. That was supposed to be saying Ted Cruz is a naturalized U.S. citizen and NOT a natural born citizen. According to the Supreme Court of the United States in United States v. Wonk Kim Ark (1898) no person born abroad can be anything other than a naturalized U.S. citizen. This is also reinforced by other Supreme Court decisions, U.S. and English naturalization acts, and more. There is simply no possible way by which Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio can be natural born citizens or become eligible to be a lawful POTUS.

Cruz another Reagan?

Objectively, I don’t thinks so.

He’s a (seemingly) nice guy who is largely committed to the Constitution.

He is not a leader.
Ne has no executive experience that I know about.
He is not bringing the experience Reagan had.
He has half or less the personality Reagan had.

He does his best to imitate Reagan along with Princess Bride.

Frankly, his personality is a bit closer to Nixon.

I don’t see him winning a General Election. Only a 5th of Republicans are supporting him in the Primary (mileage varies by state).

Still, acceptable, if he were elected...

I think you are wrong. One thing Trump is great at is picking the right people for the job.

He will rescind the executive orders, he has said he would.
He wants to shrink several Departments.

No one will be able to root out all the socialists. Many are protected by civil service laws. It would take 6 two term Republican Presidents to clean out the behemoth federal government.
