If you are referring to Trump as a liberal with a terrible record, then we agree.

It's kind of amusing what Trump does when he steers clear of his robotic rants about unfairness, as happened when Hugh Hewitt asked about the nuclear triad during the December 16 debate. Pure stream of consciousness:

Hewitt: "What's your priority among our nuclear triad?"

Trump: "Well, first of all, I think we need somebody absolutely that we can trust, who is totally responsible, who really knows what he or she is doing. That is so powerful and so important."

Trump: "And one of the things that I'm frankly most proud of is that in 2003, 2004, I was totally against going into Iraq because you're going to destabilize the Middle East. I called it. I called it very strongly. And it was very important."

Trump: "But we have to be extremely vigilant and extremely careful when it comes to nuclear. Nuclear changes the whole ballgame. Frankly, I would have said get out of Syria; get out - if we didn't have the power of weaponry today. The power is so massive that we can't just leave areas that 50 years ago or 75 years ago we wouldn't care. It was hand-to-hand combat."

Trump: "The biggest problem this world has today is not President Obama with global warming, which is inconceivable, this is what he's saying. The biggest problem we have is nuclear - nuclear proliferation and having some maniac, having some madman go out and get a nuclear weapon. That's in my opinion, that is the single biggest problem that our country faces right now."

Hewitt: "Of the three legs of the triad, though, do you have a priority? I want to go to Sen. Rubio after that and ask him."

Trump: "I think - I think, for me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me."

There is a larger issue with Trump and his business. His valuation is based on Trump's involvement. Once he turns the business over to junior and erects a wall between himself and Trump Enterprises, that valuation will drop.

My understanding is that he has already turned over operations to his son and daughter.

What ever you think about Trump, he has raised some very savvy kids, they appear to be quite capable of taking over and maintaining a profitable business empire.

Thing is, for anyone to compete on a level such as this, whether they are self funded or have contributors, each is going to have a perceived bias.

Sorry, but it is when primary debate questions are being asked by muslim activists and illegal aliens. What kind of foolishness is that? In your world is it good that a damned illegal alien gets a part in selecting our candidate? I think Trump did the right thing. It is my observation that the media is not interested in any republican’s positions, past, present or future. Their objective is to start fireworks and drive ratings by hopefully embarrassing republican candidates, hence the muslim and illegal alien questioners. Do they ask questions like this of the democrat candidates? I wish more of the candidates would have refused to eat the crap Fox fed them but I guess that expecting any elected republican to do anything remotely gutsy is just expecting too much. I have been saying for a long time that things will not get better in this country until republicans stand up to the media and call them out on their shenanigans. I am glad one candidate finally did and it actually surprises me how many people hate on him for that.

Trump couldn’t attend the Fox debate because he was bleeding out of his . . . whatever.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the “debate”. This morning the talking heads on every channel keep saying that Cruz got hammered. They keep showing he same clips over and over. Ted’s “Trump part of the debate”, Ted getting booed when he said Chris Wallace was asking nasty questions, and Ted making a “joke” about walking off the stage if he was asked any more nasty questions. But the clips they show the most is Rubio saying Ted will promise anything to get elected, and Ted being accused of flip flopping on immigration.

Ted may have won the “debate” but I seriously doubt his campaign could survive a lot more “wins” like the one last night. With Donald gone Ted was the one with the biggest target on his back. The other candidates were egged on by the “moderators”. The only thing that wasn’t brought up was the Canadian citizenship, but fear not Donald grabbed headlines by bringing it up today. It will probably be a lot easier on Ted when Donald returns then he can be the focus of all the wrath as we have come to expect.

Our candidates need to start acting a little more like gentlemen and not attacking each other so much.

The Donald is the reality TV star, not me. You just prove my point. Mr. Hollywood reality tv star wants to take his even more liberal NYC values to Washington where he can play a king for a while. I wonder how much richer the Donald thinks he will be once he leaves office?

Cruz offers substantive on-the-spot answers to a wide variety of gotcha questions

He absolutely does. Just one of the reasons I like him. But he sounds like a robot - a polished political robotic machine (with a nasal cavity) - when he does.

True story. Turns out solid gold panty liners aren’t very absorbent. He’s pretty pissed at Hillary. She’s the one who told him about them.

Yep, they should have retitled the debate a gatcha-thon and raised money for liberal causes (like Donald Trump)

I sipped the kool aid early on, but the taste was off so I left it be.

Ted did what men (and women) of real conviction do.
He showed up for the fight.
Even though he knew he would be in the cross hairs, even though he knew the moderators would go after him he showed up for the fight.
Unlike “Ditch” Donnie, Cruz showed up and faced the wannabe execution squad.

Cruz has nothing else to fall back on. If he gets kicked out of the Senate, his life is over due to lack of skills.

Wow.

Hope that helps. Or, maybe you're on the wrong site. Is DU still around?

I’m so done with FoxNews. I don’t like how they treated ANY of the GOP candidates. Their idea of being moderators is to form a hit-squad. I stopped watching them in 2009, now I will avoid their website too. So many other choices for news.
