One-Third of Iowa Voters Could Bail on Their Candidate, Pollster Warns
the Weekly Standard ^ | January 28th, 2016 | By Chris Deaton

The Republican presidential primaries have been chaotic thus far. And the chaos could continue.

Nearly a third (31 percent) of likely GOP caucus goers say they could change their vote before Monday, according to a fresh survey from Public Policy Polling. The new data suggest that “there are still a lot of votes on the table," PPP wrote in a release accompanying the results.

What the numbers imply, though, is a mixed bag. On the one hand, Trump may be insulated from such fickle caucus goers, as 80 percent of his supporters say they're "firmly committed to him". Compare that to 71 percent of Cruz's backers and a paltry 65 percent of Rubio's.

However, PPP explains the flip side:

It's a “should of could of probably maybe so” kind of thing!
Also, Microsoft is providing counting software to the Rep and Dems (although different)!

...or Trump is the nominee.

This little tidbit has been a vid all over the news and it sounds like the high school girl begging for Homecoming Queen votes.

It is a bigger deal this year than it normally is.

"I’ve never understood how so late in the game someone wouldn’t know who they were going to vote for."

Half of the voters are women. Half of those women have a below average IQ and know little more than what they see while casually peeping into the media when there's not something more important going on.

Like, why did Mary think she could get away with saying that to Betty?!?!?

Women voters always decide late. I have 3 sisters and 2 ex wives. They will contend it's because they want to be thorough, but the truth is it's because they don't start paying attention until the last minute.

Don't shoot me ladies. I'm just the messenger.

"Rationality and reason are essential components of good conservative governance."

They are also applied by about 2% of the electorate.

Anyone who bases their candidacy to heavily on Rationality and Reason will certainly fail.

One must be able to stir the passions of the people to be elected. And that means 50% +1.

“Either cast your votes to my side— or Trump is the nominee.

Oh God I hope Cruz says this tonight. That would guarantee a Trump win. Lord you are on Trump’s side after all.”

If the mods and “their guests?” take out after Cruz as I’ve read that they plan to Cruz could very well lose it. But I’m still not going to watch it...why should I waste my time listening to one stump speech after another with those that are on the stage??? You know, “I, I, I, me, I, me, and so forth. I plan on watching the doings on over at CNN.

“What I’d like to know is why in Hell does the entire country obsess over the votes of about 120,000 people in Iowa?”

Especially in view of the fact that they haven’t picked a winner in I don’t know how many years.

The Republican presidential primaries have been chaotic thus far.

As far as I know, no Republican presidential primaries have been held so far. Are we all in a time warp?

You sound just like one of those talking heads and brilliant thinkers in DC that got us into this mess.

I’ve voted conservative ever since I started voting. I cast my first vote in 1972 and I voted for Richard Nixon. In all those years, I have never knowingly voted for a Democrat.

I’m sure in some supposedly “non-partisan” race, some have snuck in there and I unwittingly voted for them because they weren’t identified by party affiliation but I’ve never voted for a Democrat on purpose.

Bragging about your conservative bona fides and strict adherence to the constitution doesn’t address the fact that 100 million Americans are out of work, we don’t manufacture anything anymore, the country is flooded with 3rd worlders looking for a handout and both sides of the uniparty are driving the welcome wagon to import more muslims because we don’t already have enough problems.

Hey, you can’t discriminate against people based on their religion. If you have any sense you should. Just look at the problems they were causing in Europe, even before frau Merkel’s invitation for invasion.

That includes the conservatives dead set on voting for Ted Cruz when there isn’t even definitive proof that can’t be challenged that he qualifies for the presidency. Based on what the Cruz people say with regard to NBC, it wouldn’t have mattered if 0b0la was born in Kenya or Hawaii. What’s the difference between the two?

Short of a Supreme court ruling that he’s eligible, he’s under a cloud and too many ideologues are hoping it won’t be brought up, get angry when it is brought up or that it’s settled and can’t or won’t be challenged. It’s not. Believe it, if he gets that far, it will be challenged and we both know it. Unlike “conservatives” the left are smart enough to wait until the trap is set and there’s no way out.

Just ask that nut Alan Grayson from Florida what he’s going to do for Ted. All he’s waiting for is the right time, when it will be most damaging. You can’t be so naive to think he can’t find a leftie judge to hear his case. He’s a sitting member of the house. I think that could be considered standing.

I keep seeing people here talking about how Trump is going to do this or that to ruin the country, turn it into a dictatorship, thwart the constitution at every turn and all the other crap you see on these threads. None of you ever explain why you think he’d want to go so against every campaign promise he’s made.

Last but not least, unlike the current occupant of the White House, Trump isn’t protected by the magic race card so we can always get rid of him if he turns out to be as bad as some fear. Personally, I don’t see that as a probability but I’ve been wrong before.

If there’s one thing I’ve seen in this campaign, it’s that those on the far right are just as stuck on stupid as those on the far left. Screw conservatism. I’m going for the nativist.

Suppose you go to a caucus as a supporter of Bush, Kasich, Christie, Paul, Fiorina, or Rubio, or are truly undecided (rare).

Then a fight breaks out between 40% of the people who want Trump and 35% of the people who want Cruz.

What do you do?

How the others break is the key. Will they break towards Trump? Cruz? Stick with their loser guy?

What do y’all think?

Sorry about the html characters in my previous post, but I punctuated it when I composed it and I don’t feel like doing it again.

Then, since hardly no one complains about it anymore, it will be this way forever.
