Money does not equal success
The former Florida governor's spending pattern illustrates the limits of campaign donations: Even in an era when candidates can receive unlimited sums from wealthy donors, money doesn't guarantee success.
"They are burning money," said a second major donor, who, like all the other high-dollar donors interviewed, asked not be named for fear of displeasing the Bush family.
"Look, this is not the election cycle to be spending like a silver-spoon establishment candidate," a third donor said. "It just doesn't look right," the donor said, referring to the way income inequality has emerged as a key theme in the 2016 election.
Ambassador Jeanne Phillips, a member of the Right to Rise governance committee, laughed off the criticism.
"I've known Jeb for 30 years, so the idea that Jeb would allow anyone around him to be frivolous with money is hilarious - it's ridiculous. The man is the most conservative, fiscally responsible person I've ever worked with."
Bush's campaign committee paid for all lodging on the campaign trail and the vast majority of private air charter, while Right To Rise paid for nearly all the known ad spending.
Money donated by both large and small donors kept the Bush camp traveling in style. There were stays at luxury hotels including the Wilshire in Beverly Hills, the Viceroy in Florida, the St. Regis in Dana Point, California, and the W in Stamford, Connecticut, the campaign finance filings show.

” A fool and his money are soon parted”
There is a grim satisfaction in watching money burn off from such foolish donors
But Karl Rove got his quota.
And Mike Murphy’s ad agencies collect a 15% commission from their media buys.
If Murphy had any ethics, the would tell his donors whether he pockets the ad media commissions?
Who would you rather have spend your tax dollars?
Yeb’s one undeniable accomplishment is proving that unlimited campaign contributions cannot buy the presidency.
In the unlikely event that Bernie Sanders takes the Democrat nomination from Hillary then Hillary will share in the same accomplishment.
Point that out whenever a liberal says that the First Amendment should be limited to reverse the Citizens United decision.

That in itself is telling.
Cruz.
Biggest bang for the buck, given that he started without the name recognition and doesn’t have a giant separate pile of cash for events.
Trump has been very smart in realizing that he can get free media coverage by spending big dollars on events and making some crazy remark that will get him in the news cycle, and to credit Trump its usually baited remark. Brilliant strategy.
To be fair, I think you would need to factor in Trump’s event spending (and everyone else’s).
Bush, Christie, and Kasich look like big losers here, but the biggest is Graham. Multiplying zero just doesn’t help.
They get to keep the leftover donations, right? In which case, good for Bush; he is spending it as intended. How many of the other tier 2 candidates are squirreling away some for the winter?
Jeb doesn’t have any leftover hard money. He’s in the hole now and he’s lending his own campaign money to make it to Super Tuesday.
It’s OK guys, that money was in a “vegetative state”.

Yep. It says these donors are trying to buy influence and do not want to jeopardize that.
They must not have seen his national ad where his mama endorses him. /sarc
