Ted Cruz Super PACs Offer $1.5M for Veterans if Donald Trump Will Debate Him One-on-One In Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa - A pair of pro-Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Super PACs just offered $1.5 million for veterans if Donald Trump will debate Cruz one-on-one in Iowa before Sunday evening.

Keep The Promise I and Keep The Promise II offered up the sizable donation for America's veterans on Wednesday evening.

The principal donors of Keep the Promise I, the Mercer family, and Keep the Promise II, the Neugebauer family, in a joint statement released Wednesday evening said:

Senator Cruz and Mr. Trump both respect the veterans and hold them in the highest regard but Senator Cruz respects the process and we are calling on Mr. Trump to do the same and debates are the purest form of democracy. Iowans - and Americans - deserve to hear from the frontrunners in this 'two-man race' one last time. Not only would this be a heck of a debate, but it would also be a terrific opportunity to generate millions of dollars for the veterans.

The press release made clear the parameters of the pro-Cruz Super PACs' offer: The debate must be between just Trump and Cruz, must take place on or before Sunday Jan. 31 in Iowa, must be one-hour long, and the candidates can pick a jointly-agreed-to moderator themselves.

You prefer your billionaire generate his profits from the confiscation of private property, right? Hedgefunds - evil. Emminent Domain - perfectly acceptable.

Why does Rafael E. Cruz need Trump in the debate?

Just use the $100+ million Cruz Superpacs have from ultra-rich donors and with TV/radio Ads pass his message to conservatives. Since Rafael is such a great conservative, I am sure voters will rush to his cause.

Why should Trump help Cruz? Makes no sense from Trump’s point of view.

If you want Keystone Pipeline, it will require 10,000 eminent domain court judgements to purchase farm lands and build the pipe line. If you are against eminent domain, pipe line is IMPOSSIBLE to build.

Keystone is a private sector project. So I assume you are against it. Which puts you on the side of B. Hussein Obama.

It is against the law for Pacs to talk to their candidate. How did Cruz and his Pacs arrive at the date and place for this 2-man debate Cruz is desperately pushing?

Looks like Cruz must be in contact with his Pacs to confirm a date and place they both agree on. This may be illegal.

Ted appears to be breaking the laws governing the coordination between Candidates and PACs

That was my first thought also. Trump should file a suit before Iowa Caucus.

Cruz may be in conflict with laws concerning superPacs. See post #105.

When our country sends $505,000,000,000 EVERY YEAR to China, is it any wonder middle class factory jobs are gone?

Every SINGLE career politician in the pockets of ultra-rich donor class is pushing the cheap labor express, and that includes moving factories to cheaper labor countries such as China. Even the constitutional conservative has been pushing the cheap labor express. So sad! The country is finished...may be just may be the ONLY candidate not in the pockets of the ultra-rich donors may have the WILL and the KNOWLEDGE to correct this humongous theft by China.

Do you understand election laws? SuperPacs are not allowed to coordinate with the candidate they support.

How did Cruz’s superPacs agree on the time and place for the $1.5 million debate with senator Cruz without talking to each other?

I hope the Justice department will immediately launch investigation. This is a nation of laws.

First off I do understand the law. And it sounds like the two super pacs coordinated amongst themselves.

Now they might have gotten the idea from Ted. But unless there’s evidence that Ted or someone working for Ted instructed these Super Pacs to make the offer. Then no crime was committed.

This is a nation of selected laws. Some are enforced and many are not.
