" the laws would mean that people who are convicted of terrorism offenses are stripped of citizenship "

To me the pertinence of this article is not about the marginally French French Guianian 'justice minister ' , it is about the OBVIOUS and appropriate strategy of stripping ' the gift ' of 'citizenship ' that they had been awarded . EVERY European country should immediately take such actions ; yet for even suspected involvement ,let alone 'conviction' . These are migrants , NOT native or ancestral born . Here in America there have been several attempts in Congress to introduce similar legislation . Our own Democrat Senators , most notably Sen. Mazie 'Keiko' Hirono of Hawaii , have successfully defeated all such efforts . Allowing any and all such 'killer immigrants ' to be able to retain their 'citizenship ' , regardless what they have done . This to include those that go and fight in foreign Jihadist armies in the Middle East. ISIS , al Shabab . al Qaeda , Boko Haram , the Taliban : ALL are protected by the likes of Sen. Hirono , here in America . Go figure

My take -
Very dangerous slippery slope that elite crisis maker powers that be created, designed to some day strip any of us of citizenship (rights & property) accused of anti-government organization association or belligerence.
It’s happened before, for the hundred thousand plus US Japanese interned in WWII camps.

The NDAA Dec 2011 indefinite Detention without due process of ANY citizens belligerent toward gov’t authorization, pending Senator McConnell’s ISIS terrorist unlimited Execution of ANY citizen’s war powers act, and Obola’s Sept 15 2015 Behavioral Analysis Exec Order, should be making anyone here very concerned as to where this deliberately engineered Islamic crisis is leading to...

There is nothing right about this whole refugee situation everything is wrong, they can claim good intentions but those were and always are wrong, decisions must always be made on facts, common sense, reason and logic, good intentions throw all that out the window, it is how the whole civilized world has been cast into despair... Progressive Liberalism prevails in and amongst free nations, WAKE UP MAN it is all about ruination disguised as good intention.

Progressive liberalism/communism/fascism/Marxism/islam and the like are an addictive drug; in the beginning it all feels soooo good you want the feeling to last forever and the evidence is indisputable and overwhelming that in its wake lies death and destruction, those are facts vs the deception of emotional feelings and good intentions.

In a sane country, any politician trying to help terrorists keep their citizenship would be forced resign from office. And a political party working to help terrorists remain citizens, would no longer be relevant.
