Trump: I'll work with Democrats
The Hill ^ | 26 Jan 16 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 01/26/2016 9:45:02 AM PST by elhombrelibre

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who'd be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

"I think I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi — I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi," Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the House minority leader.

"Reid's going to be gone. I've always had a decent relationship with Reid," Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. "I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid."

Trump said he thought he'd get along with "just about everybody," including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was "close to ... in many in ways."

I’m in love with his tax plan that puts an extra $10,000 into our household every year it is in effect. I love a lot of his other stated policies as well.

If the Rats have 40 votes in the Senate they can stop anything and everything Trump legislatively tries to do. He has no choice but to work with the Rats.
********************************************************************************
Actually, he can get just about EVERYTHING done by having the House & Senate make everything wrapped up into budget reconciliation items. It CAN be done...unless Trump and his friends Ryan & McConnell simply don’t want to do it.

And let’s see....ONE against 90% scum among the other 534! At least HE fought the good fight. Where was Donald? Obviously, oblivious to Obamacare’s destruction of health care, and on the side fighting Cruz.

So electing a Republican who just stated that he not only won’t stand up to the democrats but will work with them is your idea of the direction we should be going?

And Newt Gingrich (self avowed rigid conservative that he professes to be and much ballyhooed here by some at FR) sat on a couch with Nancy Pelosi,\. Your point?

Trump says he could shoot someone and his followers wouldn’t care. I think he knows them best.

multiple brackets of a crap tax plan

That crap tax plan will put $10,000 into our household income every year it is in effect. If he has to work with Democrats to accomplish that, than so be it.

If Trump gets the nomination, he’ll be the most liberal Republican nominee since . . . ever.

Work with democrats is equivalent to supporting incrementalism. Think of the camel and the tent

And I, who supported Ted until recently, think differently. Primarily because the rancor Cruz supporters here exhibit. I still like Ted and would vote for him if he wins the nomination, but I won’t be a part of this Trump hatred that seems to be infesting this website.

Yes, but to his supporters this will be one more example of how smart Trump is. They’ll be gleeful that he fooled them.

It is really much simpler.

I am a Cruz supporter. I can switch to another candidate if Cruz is not sufficiently conservative.

These are Trump followers.

Of course he will...up until the last six months, his entire history of political statements and political donations have all been hard-left!

Thank you for referencing that article elhombrelibre. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Trumps supporters need to clue him in that negotiating with political parties is constitutionally meaningless. After all, how many political parties does it take to decide policy for the US Mail Service (1.8.7), one of the very few things that the feds actually have the constitutional authority to regulate where domestic policy is concerned?

We actually need to get rid of political party support for the constitutionally limited power federal government.

On the other hand, Trump will have his work cut out for him with respect to military issues, treaties, and trade policy between the states and foreign countries, things that the feds actually have the constitutional authority to take action on.

This is all moot. Trump is going to stomp a mud hole in Cruz in Iowa and every state thereafter. Then let the circular firing squad begin...violating the Gippers most important commandment..Thou shalt not attack other Republicans. We elect someone CLOSE to our values, not exactly like them. You purists ask yourself is Hillary Clinton a clear and present danger to the Republic, and what are you going to do to stop her?

Yours is illogic at its finest! Who here has said that acquiescing to Marxists was a good thing? HELL YEAH, we are worried about Trump continuing to sell us down the drain like other establishment Republicans. Working with Shumer and Pelosi IS a promise that Trump will keep, no doubt.
Count me out of this madness.

“Why don’t the Tumpettes just admit they are in the love with the reality star?”

1. I never watched the Trump TV show and do people really love reality stars? Can there be such an entity as “reality star”?

2. As a Trump supporter, the idea of working with Pelosi is repugnant.

3. Now you Cruz-bots can understand my dismay at Cruz working with Ryan, Boehner, McConnell, and OBAMA on TPA (Cruz really worked to get that going), and you can now understand my dismay at how Cruz voted for the Obama agenda when he voted for the abominable Corker bill, or my dismay with Cruz when he called for a 500% increase in H-1B visas when there is so much unemployment, or when he called for an increase in immigration when the country is being overrun, or when he said a few weeks ago that our immigration system is broken, or when he said he wanted to get the illegals “out of the shadows”.

Well, you're right. Trump has worked with the mob before. So that might be a technique he will use. See his biography.
