Trump: I'll work with Democrats
The Hill ^ | 26 Jan 16 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 01/26/2016 9:45:02 AM PST by elhombrelibre

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who'd be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

"I think I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi — I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi," Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the House minority leader.

"Reid's going to be gone. I've always had a decent relationship with Reid," Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. "I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid."

Trump said he thought he'd get along with "just about everybody," including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was "close to ... in many in ways."

I hope you are correct in your analysis.

I’m not a “hater” as so many of you like to assume of people who are concerned about Trump. I am Cruz 100% until/nless he drops out.
That being said, a reason I can live with Trump if I have to is that he can make the deals, and I hope he will be fiscally sane.

Let me get this straight. You want a Republican president who will work with Democrats? We were all ticked off when W did it.

Newt produced 2 balanced budgets and Clinton signed them.

It would be nice if that could happen again.

Yeah. Incredible.

Ninety days ago, the idea of cutting deals for the TPP, Iran agreement ... you name it, was despised in these parts.

Now, lifelong conservatives who've been railing against the GOP-e for years are "purist conservatives" and "elistists," and working with the Democrats is just fine.

This is why the cult of personality is so dangerous. There is nothing it doesn't justify.

When Trump names his radical pro-Abortion sister to the Supreme Court, we're going to be told "It's a great thing. Wonderful. Big Win. Big Big Win. She's a terrific, terrific person."

The number one complaint about congress is they are liberal sell outs. Unless a real conservative takes his case to the American people and jams a conservative agenda does their throats I don’t want them to get a damn thing done.

Trump is a smart guy. I am certain he has poll tested everything he says. He has his people poll test the question “Should the parties work together”. He sees that a good majority exwants Kumbaya America so he runs with it. But since he has no core convictions he does not grasp that conservatives do not see how you can make deals with the people destroying the country.

We will see what happens in Iowa. A good test on how strong the Trump koolaid truly is.

He means, "I win."

Which means: America loses.

A mass psychosis like this comes along so rarely that I think social psychologist will study this phenomena for a long time. How did seemingly normal people with "conservative" values fall for a transparent fraud? It's amazing. See the link.

Yeah - work with Schumer and Hoyer. Nice enough guys and they always go along with the conservative agenda when pushed. If we can just get those Democrats to vote for our principles......and Trump is a winner. He said so himself.

Drone on........drone on.

Yes. I remember. But you forget how many here were nonetheless championing him in his attempt to win the nomination in 2012. He was my congressman all the while he was in Congress. I remember him telling us he would (as Speaker) hold Clinton to account for personal, ethical and official actions while in office so help him God. That all abruptly changed when he got caught with his pants around that Stepford Wife around his ankles.

I finally decided he was nothing but a snake more interested in himself and ‘Callista’. One would think a Georgian would come home to his roots in Georgia to live out his life. He resides in Virginia - ever since he was forced to resign.

Reagan admitted his budget deal with the Democrats was a mistake.

Is your "genius" guy so dumb he can't learn from past mistakes?

Depends what you mean with “work with them.” You talk, you smile, . . . you win.

The problem has been that the Republicans always talk, smile . . . then give it away.

If the Rats have 40 votes in the Senate they can stop anything and everything Trump legislatively tries to do. He has no choice but to work with the Rats.
.....................................................
Don’t expect the Cruz team to face reality. Trump is straight up telling it like it is. He will have to deal with them in order to reverse the plunge the country is in. HOW he does it will be the big difference. TRUMP 2016!
