The betting is increasingly off Ted Cruz.
Cruz, the Texas Republican senator who had led in prediction markets of the Iowa caucuses about a month ago, is cratering in those same markets with a week to go until the Hawkeye State's first-in-the-nation Feb. 1 contests. And it's not just in Iowa: Cruz's chances of winning the GOP nomination are tanking, according to prediction-market aggregator PredictWise.com.
Riding high at No. 1 in Iowa and for the nomination is Donald Trump, who's been aggressively pounding Cruz over his birth in Canada. For the GOP nomination, Trump is at 47% as of Monday on PredictWise; his nearest competitor, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, is at 30%. Cruz draws 10%. In late December, Cruz was up at 27% to get the GOP's nod.

I'm with you. Two USA parents, born in the USA life-long US (not accepting dual) citizenship would be great, if my opinion were law. Birthers made a mistake chasing just the Holy Grail...ie: born in Kenya for Obama,, which was disproveable true or not. But Cruz is a whole new level of the slippery slope to a foreign born and raised President.
My head is just spinning. I don't know how any birther in good conscience can vote for Cruz. Their argument settled on where Obama was born and what citizenship he was born with, things we know for sure about Cruz.
We live in a crazy Alice In Wonderland world that's falling apart at every seam. Country's probably gonna' fall apart anyway. But I'll take a chance at turning the nation around with the guy who knows what we've lost since the 1950s and 1960s and wants it back.
My gosh, you got me ranting again. <^..^>
Why is Marco Rubio’s eligibility issues not getting more coverage? Come on, an anchor baby? My feelings are both Ted Cruz (whom I actually like) and Rubio (not so much) will get taken out over their eligibility issues, then the big guns will focus on Trump. I have read where the Clintons have a huge dossier on Trump they are waiting to disclose until the crucial moment. If all three top runners are gone, who are we left with for consideration? I think this will be the Bush trump card (pardon the pun).
and he surrendered the microphone to Beck.
How about prunes? :)
Rubio is an accomplished sound bite dispenser.
I will not trust him.
Cruz does not look like a happy camper...
and he surrendered the microphone to Beck.
Ted should have run some focus groups on Beck to see how others really felt about Beck.
January 2016 has not been good for Ted and his supporters.
Palin brought Trumpâs polls up by 6 percent.
Bring Paling back, Palin, Palin, Palin.
Go Trump Go
And 2017 will be bad for America if he does not win. Many here will be happy and excited if Trump wins, but Trump is more likely than anyone else running in he GOP to make deals with the Left. Making deals is what he does, and he openly admits to his liberal leanings due to living in NYC. I'm sad that "I told you so" is more important to half of all Freepers than actual Conservative ideals like limited government and Separation of Powers (which Trump already promises to ignore).
Good point...Cruz needs a sail and Beck is an anchor.
I agree with you 100% Cruz shot himself in the foot. He was the presumptive VP (If eligibility cleared up), AG or SCOTUS, his choice. He now has a snowballs chance in hell of getting any of those, and will likely not even keep his Senate seat next go round.
“Rubio is such a nice looking boy and so easy to listen to is what I hear from the older than me crowd”
Handsome, boyish, articulate Rubio is truly dangerous because he’s also one of the most convincing liars I’ve ever seen in politics.
Now now.
Predicting Cruz wins Iowa
Folks who put their money behind their opinions (by betting) say otherwise.
He could have saved a bunch of money just listening to the guy for 5 minutes.
Cruz misread Beck like he did with Roberts by recommending Roberts for Scotus!
Iâm still predicting a Rubio surprise 2nd by a hair.
The GOPe wants a fresh face with some momentum going into NH.

You may be right. Cruz has been melting down since the last debate.
